I'm never really sure when to barrage. When is the correct timing? Can I still double dip form nether precision by using arcane blast and barrage? Should I consume burden of power via barrage even when I have 2 NP stacks?

1. Burden of Power was bugged at the time I recorded this run so you should follow the rotation detailed in this guide (tells you exactly when you should or shouldn't barrage in ST and AoE): kzbin.info/www/bejne/enPSkJKhh7uGhc0&t 2. Yes you can still double dip Nether Precision until the 11.0.5 patch some time in late October. Burden of Power cannot be double dipped though. 3. Yes you should generally consume BoP via Barrage at 2 stacks if you aren't already casting Arcane Blast (refer to guide for more info).

I know there's currently a burden of power bug but I'm having trouble figuring out when I should use my Barrage. I feel like I basically only use it when Burden is up and then still I generally want to wait to proc it with nether precision. Am I just holding it way too much?

Nope, Sunfury likes to stay at 4 Arcane Charges for the most part so you only want to Barrage when you have some way to instantly refund/regenerate charges such as: ST - Burden of Power/Glorious Incandescence or Intuition AoE - ST - Burden of Power/Glorious Incandescence, Intuition, Arcane Orb, or Clearcasting with High Voltage More info on the rotation and priority list can be found here for both ST and AoE: kzbin.info/www/bejne/enPSkJKhh7uGhc0&t

I feel hamstringed this time around by the crests. Not sure if I should just take the L on this week raiding and not upgrade anything again with runed, seems like getting 90 gilded might be out of reach as well (for weap craft w/ embellish).

Thanks for the great educational arcane play, love it. I just got the Spymaster's Web and I noticed you always seem to wait it out for the 40x stack. Is this the way to go? Or do you ever pop it at lower stacks?

There's multiple ways to use it, so it depends. If there's a specific pack or boss that you know causes trouble and you want to nuke it, saving to 40 stacks might be a play, similar for any boss or mob that has a damage increase debuff/phase. If you kind of want to spread the damage out evenly throughout a key, you can prob pop it at 20-30 stacks (every other Surge Burn) or I've even seen some logs of people popping it on every Surge Burn too. Usually if I feel like i can line up a 40 stacker with a DPS potion I try to go for that.

During your very first opener, would you have benefited by casting Arcane Missiles after Evocation, and then clipping it with an Arcane Surge?

Nah. For what I understand its for Magi, you want all the three spells for Touch of the Magi to go off so it it Evocation -> surge -> barrage -> magi while barrage travels -> missiles to get nether precission -> arcane blast to proc magi -> continue normal rotation with arcane blast. Might be wrong, im kinda new to the spec

Yeah I should have done that first. Proper opener as Sunfury in AoE is Evocation -> Missiles -> Orb (if you need the charges) -> Surge (clip Missiles unless AA buffed) -> Barrage -> Touch -> Enter Filler

Sick video. Thanks for sharing. Also, what is your stance on Dematerialize vs Resonant Orbs? I like to play the lottery a lot when I get into a fast paced M+ environment and go for that orb barrage proc which has led me to start running Resonant for a fail safe. Dematerialize is usually a tad over 1% of my overall so I don't feel like I'm missing out on much

@@hunterbell2066 I've just been running Dematerialize in all my keys and that's what I would have to recommend to most people as that's what the APL states is the best. Now with that disclaimer out of the way, if Resonant Orbs is bringing you more fun/success though, then it's a win. Maybe you can also take out a point in Energized Familiar and slot it into Charged Orb for the extra orb charge and chance at more Orb Barrage chains (that's what the Spellslinger build does).

Min 11:33 how do u know you can throw 3 arcane barrage there? u didnt even have burden of power. Sorry for my question but sometimes you spam arcane barrage x3 (not meaning after arcane surge ends) and i dont know the condition. In minute 11:33 i only see intuition proc which you can use 1 arcane barrage but what about others?

Barrage 1 was with Burden of Power, Barrage 2 was with Intuition (4pc bonus) and the rest are because I have an Aether Attunement buff (AoE Arcane Missiles). Whenever you have Aether Attunement you want to dump all of your Arcane Charges because with the High Voltage talent, Aether Attunement Arcane Missiles will regenerate all of your Arcane Charges. You can find a more detailed explanation of the entire AoE rotation in my guide here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/enPSkJKhh7uGhc0 As for the rest of the video, keep in mind that at the time of recording Sunfury Arcane was bugged so my Spellfire Spheres tracker works differently to how you will see it on live. This video is still good to see the general CD usage throughout the dungeon, but I recommend taking a look at any of the other dungeon runs if you want to see specifically how to play the rotation optimally.

@@PhosphorosWoW ahh okay thanks you so much, but I can see in that minute when u have Aether Attunement Arcane Missiles (after landing barrage with burden and intuition) u use arcane barrage with any proc and still regenerates 4 arcane charges without burden and intuition, is this totally random? Or what else talent can cause this? I rly struggle with that.

@@VyreYT That was due to an Arcane Orb that was generated from the talent 'Orb Barrage'. Each Orb from that talent will refund 1 Arcane Charge per target that gets hit. And whether that talent procs or not is random.

from what I understand, as long as the fox is cc'd it's fine. sometimes an issue arises where some classes has aoe that might accidentally take the fox out of poly, but just keeping the fox away so it doesn't touch anyone is what you're looking for

Nope I don't really look at my stats. General recommendation is Haste > Mastery > Crit > Versatility, but this may change for some people based on their current gearing situation. I think the best way to know for sure if you're choosing the right gear is to sim yourself on Raidbots with Top Gear and let that handle all your gearing choices.

Try to rotate defensives instead of popping them all at once. For example: Barrier > Alter Time > Invis > Barrier > Alter Time > Ice Cold > Barrier/Mass Barrier > Alter Time > Invis should be back up again Of course all of this is fight dependent but hopefully that gives you an idea of what I mean. I might make a video specifically on this topic IF I can find an encounter that showcases it well this season. Also you can take advantage of Shifting Power's CDR for defensive purposes aswell. Barrier into Shifting Power basically gives you a second Barrier for free.

yoo iv been consuming content about arcane amge for a week straight.. im ilvl607 and i can barly stay at 750k dps on a target dummy.. im litteraly not seeing where my damage is missing and what im doing wrong.. this is legit a cry for help bc i will eather figure out how im missing 250k dps or i will quit for the expansion bc i put 2 weeks into gearing this character and i couldnt be bothered to gear something else at this point

I think Arcane Mage's 4-set bonus is really weak and ridiculous, and as people unlock their 4-set bonuses, Arcane Mage will keep falling further behind compared to other DPS classes

Nah. Arcane will get more nerfs for 11.0.5. There's only a few classes that have exceptional tier sets; ie, BDK and enhance. Check back in November to see more arcane nerfs
