Also, could I ask how you get screenshots from the show?

@@fresh-teak Usually turning off graphics acceleration on your browser lets you take screenshots from Netflix without it being a black screen. Hope this helps.

Love how hyped you got during the fight/orb scene and holy smokes this 2 hour discussion 🤯, thats a whole proper video essay-podcast material, impressive, it was an interesting dissection of the storylines, a good refresher before tomorrow's Act 2. There isnt much to it, but there seems to be some visual symbolism present with Jace, Viktor and the butterfly (the white butterfly was present in both of their S1 flashbacks, and in this episode when Jace hits the hexcore with the hammer there are a few split frames with a butterfly silhouette), maybe its just a straightforward "buttefly effect" nod to their invention having consequences on the world (the tree). Also Viktor being in a sort of a cocoon in eps 1-2 and being reborn into something new, well just interesting symbolic flavor. Even though you said that Jinx seeing Vi fighting her for real was like a wake up call to her, judging from some of the slowed down breakdowns of the fighting between them it seems like Vi was still holding back from really hurting her sister, most of her punches were either defensive or half-assed. So even though she said "take the shot" and "my sister is gone" she was still subconsciously holding back it seems. At the climax of the fight when all the hextech weapons were glitching violently i thought that they were going to be teleported away somewhere like Jace was in S1E2, it had a similar glitching effect. Hope your injury heals, cheers.

Re: seems like Vi was still holding back from really hurting her sister Oh it's obvious she never wanted the fight, or even expected a fight at all. I think the side of Vi that wanted Jinx dead was hoping for Caitlyn to be the one to do it, to relieve her from the burden. That's also probably why Cait was more upset and 'disappointed' at Vi at the end, because Vi kept giving her the thumbs up to kill Jinx.

Matt is blessing us with a near 2 hour discussion. Man I'm so glad you're reacting to Arcane season 2! I know you never reacted to season 1 because the channel wasn't created at the time, but damn I would've love seeing the journey you went through seeing how much you're engaged with the characters and the world. Can't wait for act 2!

Season 1 wrecked me in moments I least expected. I think I was shedding a tear when they kicked out Heimerdinger from the council lol.

Great episode. However as a MASSIVE fan of Tron Legacy, that audio design for the last part of the episode (around 18:15) is STRAIGHT out of Tron legacy’s Clu speech. I’m such a big fan of the movie’s soundtrack by daft punk, so I was so randomly taken aback when I heard this part of the episode. Not only is the soundtrack incredibly close to the one used in this scene (Tron soundtrack: Rectifier), but the punching of the chests also mimics the stomping of the staffs in Tron when this exact soundtrack is used. Obviously I’m fine with inspiration from it (which I think it was heavily inspired by if you listen to it/watch the scene), but man. It’s so close to the audio it actually gave me nostalgia of Tron Legacy from hearing it.

Oh it's been ages since I've seen Tron Legacy, but an interesting observation though!
