Viktor believes what he’s doing to be the next evolution because he believes human emotion to be the root of all evil, as well as the root of all good. He believes if he can just get rid of emotion as a factor at all, there will be no more death, bloodshed, violence, etc. he is beyond worrying about humanity, as we saw at the end of episode 6.

I think a big part too, is that Viktor had no choice in his disability. He grew up with all the baggage being disabled come with since a child, without any say in the matter. And he literally willed his body to work and live, using science and the arcane. So I feel like it’s an unhealthy extension of his own evolution, he’s removing choice from those he’s evolving because in the end. He views it as better than the unfair chaos that is life

@@shayasimsit actually is like that though. Health care proxies in real life are there to make decisions about your healthcare in the event that you cannot make decisions yourself. Their personal feelings should not factor into the decisions they make; they are meant to make the decisions that you would if you were able to. Viktor made his wishes clear to Jayce about his future and the hexcore. Jayce selfishly put his own feelings over what Viktor asked for which is part of why Viktor leaves. It’s complicated and while understandable, Jayce is in the wrong for taking away Viktor autonomy like that.

Great Review!! Arcane is just so stunning. With depth the character journeys go like with Jinx. Then you slow see Vi and Jinx becoming sisters. I think the ending of Season 1 Episode 3 was the end of Powder, throughout the series we see Vi trying to get Powder within Jinx’s psyche. But now Vi is finding fragments of Powder within Jinx’s psyche and just connecting and intertwining the personas together. Yes Jinx is crazy, but I believe Jinx was formed by Powder’s survival instinct and the diabolical aspects was just Silco’s moulding. Sure while we see Vi’s aggressive fighting against antagonist type characters, but how is Vi’s brutality different than Jinx’s psyche. Both Vi and Powder changed after Vander’s “death”, and they had different styles to survive, Vi became more aggressive while Powder created Jinx. In the first episode Vi’s friends said Powder wasn’t a fighter and made everything worst, so in turn started the spark that create Jinx. While they didn’t see Powder as a fighter, Jinx was now stronger. I believe Powder created Jinx as a survival instinct, while Silco was the “Alice in Wonderland”. Then having Vi wanting to save Powder within Jinx wasn’t the way to go. Vi should have seen Jinx is Powder and Powder is Jinx. I am very interested to see what the finale has in store, I hope there is spin offs. I am very curious to see you guys opinions on the 3 episode “arc” release format.

I'm more confused why Ambessa would want that from Victor, rather than why Victor would agree. He turned everyone into mindless drones that he can control, that die with him. Why would Ambessa what that? She's effectively agreeing to just submit to Victor and give him total control of everyone. It's not like she doesn't know, she saw him talking through everyone else.

I actually had more anxiety about going into Act 3 for nothing more than what happened between Cait and Vi. Seeing the end of Episode 3, and then the whole Maddie issue at the start of Episode 4 affected me WAY more than I ever imagined it could. I literally spent a WEEK obsessing over it!!! Thank god for Eipsode 8!!!!

@ 2 extremely rushed episodes that set up the finale in a fairly sloppy way and barely give any nod to major characters that gave the ultimate sacrifice. I mean they had the foot to the floor on the gas peddle for this one. Don’t get me wrong I’m happy with the choice they made for that ending but one of the episodes was 36 min when they could have used a little more exposition.
