The Smile movies are so bleak. I see a lot of comments saying they are about conquering mental illness but I disagree. It's about a literal spirit/demon that uses your trauma against you and even if you manage to face your trauma ( like in Smile 1) it's almost irrelevant because the demon is older/smarter/crueler amd is just using what it finds in your mind as a tool... it doesn't get rid of it and it will never stop.
@leareed37498 сағат бұрын
I think you make great points and that on the contrary, these points affirm the entire metaphor about mental illness to me because for some people... living with a disability of the mind is chronic, incurable and potentially dangerous, thus why this demon forces it's host to take their own lives.
@KarlUrbahn7 сағат бұрын
I know and the fact that you just can't seem to win against this entity makes the story less interesting because you're just waiting until it finally kills the main character.
@luckyowl64326 сағат бұрын
@@KarlUrbahn I think they can win it's just a matter of time ( getting passed the seven day mark ) or finding a way to pass it on to someone that is/gets completely isolated and immobile. The first two movies just haven't touched on that yet. I have this vague idea of someone getting infected and getting into an accident and getting trapped for a long period of time and then rescued at the last second and through that person a protagonist finds a way. 53:50 what you don’t consider is that they didn’t have a spit bucket because you see her just chugging it. They could have only done that take a few times which wouldn’t be hard but you need to consider that you can only drink so much water until it becomes dangerous

The scene with the fans in the hotel is probably one of the best horror scenes in awhile up there with the substance with that scene and the sound effects. I wish the last 40 mins was better though. Ik that would be the ending watching the trailer.
