If you guys didn’t notice about the water bottles, other than just sitting there after everytime she drinks and downs a bottle the bottle is ALWAYS in the next shot or frame showing she didn’t actually drink it. Some bottles go back to being completely full, half full, etc. It’s fun foreshadowing

It works because part of the joy of drinking isnt just the anticipated effects, its the chugging it down your throat. The water covers that part, and drinking water in a ritualistic way takes away a lot of other cravings as well. It also works for so many other ailments, like racing heart/anxiety and nausea.

For one particular scene, she had to chug an entire bottle of water multiple times. In fact, she mentioned that during a continuous take that lasted around five minutes, she ended up drinking a bottle five times because they needed to reset the scene so often. It definitely made her feel bloated and uncomfortable, which just goes to show how demanding her role as Skye Riley really was!

The idea of what they did with the ending by having the entire stadium see it is a potential evolution of the rules of Smile that I did not see coming, but I am all here for if they want to make a third film go bigger. Could this entity get passed off to people like that? Making it so that it becomes a disease. Eventually, to the point where almost everyone has it.👀

The Smile movies are so bleak. I see a lot of comments saying they are about conquering mental illness but I disagree. It's about a literal spirit/demon that uses your trauma against you and even if you manage to face your trauma ( like in Smile 1) it's almost irrelevant because the demon is older/smarter/crueler amd is just using what it finds in your mind as a tool... it doesn't get rid of it and it will never stop.
@leareed3749
@leareed3749 8 сағат бұрын
I think you make great points and that on the contrary, these points affirm the entire metaphor about mental illness to me because for some people... living with a disability of the mind is chronic, incurable and potentially dangerous, thus why this demon forces it's host to take their own lives.
@KarlUrbahn

I know and the fact that you just can't seem to win against this entity makes the story less interesting because you're just waiting until it finally kills the main character.
@luckyowl6432
@luckyowl6432 6 сағат бұрын
@@KarlUrbahn I think they can win it's just a matter of time ( getting passed the seven day mark ) or finding a way to pass it on to someone that is/gets completely isolated and immobile. The first two movies just haven't touched on that yet. I have this vague idea of someone getting infected and getting into an accident and getting trapped for a long period of time and then rescued at the last second and through that person a protagonist finds a way. Those are just ideas but hopefully it gets explored in any sequels.

i recently watched the first movie with my relatives last october and really enjoyed it, was surprised to know there's a second one. ngl i can't watch it by myself so i'm only watching reactions to it so far lmao. at first i wasn't completely sold on naomi scott as the main character but she did a really great job!! i think this is one of her projects that shows her range as an actress and i hope this opens up more opportunities for her. i accidentally paused @ 0:07 ,, IM CRYINGGG

16:18 Lukas Gage is a great actor I’ve only seen him in Dead Boy Detectives and this and I want to work with him now on films. Also the Cheshire Cat smile is just perfect. I love the lingering shots on not just the horror but also on the reaction because reaction to the action is just as important.

This is definitely one of my favorite films of the year. Naomi Scott gives an Oscar nomination worthy performance, her character is so real with all her flaws. Ray Nicholson hopefully does more horror films or psychological thrillers, his acting reminds me of his legendary father

Something about John and Greg makes me warm and fuzzy. If awards noticed horror then Toni Collette needs hers for Hereditary!

Even in that film she was giving it her all. Most of the acting in the Power rangers film was great it’s just not what people wanted.

I love Naomi Scott in this! She was incredible! Her performance is one of my favorites all year, it was Oscar worthy! I felt her anxiety and I felt like I was going insane with her. She did a sensational job in her role! I wasn’t expecting to love this film as much as the first one, which I already loved. This sequel is way better than the first one IMO. The cinematography, the acting, the music, the setting, and the story and themes were amazing!!❤✨ thank you so much for watching!!

Notice how the mom never acknowledged Gemma’s presence. She for sure would have since she pushed skye to call her. She would have been happy to see her

I gotta be real... As somebody who deals with depression and anxiety, I find both of these movies really strange. Look, I get it, it's a horror movie. I'm not expecting a happy ending. But I mean... really? Why make two movies about two people trying to overcome their own mental issues and trauma, only for them to fail and drag others down with them? I'm probably in the minority here, but I just feel like the success of these films are about to ignite waves of misery porn masquerading as horror.

Saw this in theaters with friends. The sound design was exceptional and thus, the jump scares absolutely wrecked us. So much screams & yelps from us and other audience members the whole way through.

53:50 what you don’t consider is that they didn’t have a spit bucket because you see her just chugging it. They could have only done that take a few times which wouldn’t be hard but you need to consider that you can only drink so much water until it becomes dangerous

The scene with the fans in the hotel is probably one of the best horror scenes in awhile up there with the substance with that scene and the sound effects. I wish the last 40 mins was better though. Ik that would be the ending watching the trailer.
