If you dont need the sustain inspired scholarship is great imo you can swap your flex spot for fulminating rune and forces nbs to come out of stealth every 3 seconds for a nice bonus

Arcanist have the best class passives for armor rating, I find I can run sturdy or more divines on my PVE arc tank because of this actually. You have 2200 from your taunt, good class major and minor resolves then you also get 1980 armor when any of your soldier skills are active on yourself so taunt buff, cruxweaver, runeguard etc. 4180 armor from unique class passives in total

You do miss out on the curative runeform passive that increase damage shield strength and reduces the cost by 10% but you might not really need it for 1v1s

correct, theres just nothing from that skill tree thats beneficial for pvp in general tbh... even in OW/BG's i still dont slot anything from curative runeforms, but zena's empowering disc is an option if you drop your major breach.

maarselok is good, but zaan/jerral are a lot more pressure. id only consider maarselok vs sorcs or NB's that cloak.

Do you think imperial would be good to run instead of nord for solo/ small scale cyrodil? Been hearing a lot about sustain issues with the class.

if you run wretched + sugar skulls its a ton of sustain, imperial shouldnt be needed. id advise nord only for 1v1's with this specific build. overall id tell people to go kajiit or dark elf.

How is Nord better then dark elf in 1v1, its true that nord has more armor, but dark elf also deals more damage.

Arcanist doesn't need weapon damage. It just needs pen and proc sets. It's also weak on resistance, no passives to buff resistance. So yes, nord and even the resistance boon are the best choice for 1v1.
