I appreciate your point of view on the carrying strap for the machine, that makes a lot of sense and makes this machine very portable. I have a Millermatic 175 and it weighs 98.5 pounds, not very portable. I like that the Arccaptain is only 18 pounds! Very cool! Thank you for your teaching, knowledge of welding and the material that you’re working on. I learned the difference between hot and cold rolled steel and the different colors of them. Plus whether or not they have grease or mill slag on them. Excellent video! 👍🏻👍🏻

I want to thank you for the content you post. I'm a farmer from New Hampshire and I often need to "farm fix" equipment and your site gives me useable pointers for how to fix a problem in get a weld that will hold. Too many sites focus on pretty weld beads or bend test pointers. While that has it's place, I'm never going to bend test anything. I'm going to weld the bracket and put it back on and go back to work! You are a practical guy with real world know how. Thanks again.

I got to say it’s not something I’d use all the time but I definitely could have a use for it for sure I actually could have used it last night if I had one I’m actually kind of interested for real just for weird occasional stuff I run into. TIG welding aluminum is done with AC welding current, continuous high frequency, and variable heat control that is usually adjusted while welding using a foot petal. The Mig 145 does not have that capability. The TIG welding that can be done with the Mig 145 is DC scratch start on steel and stainless steel. To AC TIG aluminum you'd need a machine like the ARCCAPTAIN TIG 200P

They also threw in that magical marketing term: " Pro". I guess a pro could use this if he didn't want to hurt his back to go to a small job. For a buzz kill, you use the term GMAW and catch all the gases. CO2 is semi-inert and somewhat Active (a little carbon can get in the metal). When used by itself is often called MAG. You do use 100% inert Argon for MIG welding aluminum and TIG.

The 145 is great if that is all you can afford...it has limits because it runs only on 110V and may be more limited if you don't have a 110V 30amp circuit to plug it into If you can afford a MIG 200 then I'd recommend doing that...you'll need a 220V outlet to use all the power that the MIG 200 has but you'll be virtually unlimited on what you can do if you spend just a little more on the MIG 200. I tack the outside corners with a gap in the fit..then get square and clamp it to the table...if your not working on a table you can also lay a piece of strong scrap material from one corner to the other and clamp or tack it to the frame to hold it. Then tack the inside.

Could you please give me your recommendation on which one to get out of this machine or the MiG 200? I’m only going to be doing flux welding and stick welding…. Was wondering if the MiG 200 would be of any benefit over this machine if I only used it for flux wire and stick… Thank you kindly sir!
@NBSWELDING10 күн бұрын
The simple answer is that if you can afford to buy the MIG 200 then buy it....the MIG 200 is limitless in terms of power and DC welding processes. The MIG 145 is amazingly effective for its tiny size but your gonna be limited on power by its inability to use 220V current and most people don't have a 110V circuit that is 30 amp so they can't even use what limited power the 145 has.....so your limited on power by a smaller machine and then limited even more if you only have 15 amp or 20 amp circut breakers for your 110V power supply. I have done hours & hours of video on these machines...please watch the videos and decide for yourself....please like and comment on the videos kzbin.info/www/bejne/fHe3nYmNmL6YnMU kzbin.info/www/bejne/bGXFnmaLpN6KbpI kzbin.info/www/bejne/sJ6baa1-jJl7Zrs kzbin.info/www/bejne/sJ6baa1-jJl7Zrs kzbin.info/www/bejne/fn3Nk2N8epp1a6s kzbin.info/www/bejne/rWG3n5KvbrKefck kzbin.info/www/bejne/j2WQoH6Jis-fh6c kzbin.info/www/bejne/fJSWc59sj5trmpI kzbin.info/www/bejne/aIK0iZtqadKAh9k

What Primeweld machine labeled MIG does not have a gas solenoid installed on it?
@NBSWELDING2 ай бұрын
I thought their MIG140 was without gas welding ability but I may be wrong...I just looked on the site and it looks like the MIG140 isn't even available now. Looks like the smallest Primeweld now is the 160 and it has MIG capability...I should have looked that up before I made that statement....looks like I was wrong saying that about Primeweld

When people talk about Mig they are usually talking about GMAW (short arc, spray, globular, pulse). But is gas shielded flux core technically “mig”?
@NBSWELDING2 ай бұрын
I'd say that as long as inert gas is being used then it can be called MIG...but I myself use the term "dual shield" when referring to the Outershield and Ultracore type wires just to be clear....I generally save the term "MIG" for when I am speaking about solid wires ran with gas

@@NBSWELDINGExactly! I run a lot of dual shield and make it a point to inform customers that it’s NOT mig because mig really has a bad reputation for not being as strong. You and I both know, that if done correctly, MIG is a good process. That said, I still prefer dual shield when welding on structural jobs 3/16” thickness and above.

Do you have any kind of contract with ArcCaptain that prevents you from reviewing other brands of welders? Asking because there's a really cool welder I got from Simder and as a novice I think it's a really cool machine but i'd be interested to get your thoughts as an experienced welder. I was also wondering if you have any trick to keep your welding helmet from getting all clouded up by the smoke (not the right word but not really sure what else to call it) from flux core welding?

I will be reviewing a Simder plasma cutter soon...if you want me to review a Simder welder let Simder know that ...maybe Simder will send me one

@@NBSWELDING The one that i've got is the 45050pro (2024). It does MIG (both steel and aluminum, HF TIG (with the option for pedal control), Stick, Flux core, and plasma cutting.
