We have an australorp hen very similar mannerism as yours. Just wants to hang out all the time and be the centre of attention. Not much of a welding inspector though…

Beginner here. 7:35 TIG can be initially used without filler material also?

With some materials yes. Stainless steel is the best for fuse welding, and certain grades of aluminium. You can get mild steel to fuse though it's never very satisfactory it really needs the additives that are in the mild steel filler wire to stabilize the weld puddle.

I bought an MIG200 before and I gotta say, I loved how it did MIG stuff. I was totally blown away by how well it did DC TIG too. I wish I could show you a pic, but I can't. Since then, I've been curious to witness the performance of arccaptain's TIG welding machine. Thanks for your video!

Just tigged up 2 aluminium tanks...aprox 50ft weld total at about 165 .works fine.Ground cable is about 1/2 the size it should be as is the main power cord. Get used to using a foot pedal guys.Have tigged up aircraft tubes with all kinds of tortch contortions and positions using a knee even on the pedal.

What timing is this? Just last night I purchased a "Giantz" 250amp DC inverter welder online. I figured that a Tig was above my pay grade and capability and I'd stick with the ark welder. This thing is under 4kg, god only knows what my old 150amp Peerless weighs, it was probably measured in cwt, LOL. I've wanted a welder with grunt for a while now and I hear they strike a great ark. I hope I've made the right decision.

I'm still running my UniMig, it's T2 torch has a superior duty cycle compared to the standard 26 air cooled that came on the Arccaptain. Both are fantastic welders, one thing the captain does better is they've developed a high frequency start that is 99.9% reliable. Something that the unimig struggles with on occasion is a false start, it's a small thing, but it is something that UniMig could improve on. Something that I would consider if having to buy one of these machines would be spare parts. I know that UniMig is very good at servicing their machines and stocking spare parts. I haven't had to get any spares for the Arc captain but I'm not sure how that would go.

All I was doing was commenting on which UniMig I was looking to get & that I felt the Arccaptain was similar to the YesWelder, with both being on Amazon.

Nice tig torch.. they are not ship with the flex head with built-in trigger , it's a cheap torch with the trigger tie strapped on the torch .. the rest of unit looks good

Same here my friend have the alpha but I will tell u from this video this welder did great too I think a tie in my book base on this video and seeing my friend use his , so for the price point I am going to go with this one and I like the digital display on this one too. Hope this comment helps u.

When I received my welder it had an American style plug 🔌 (at the time of the video this was the first welder to be sent to Australia) so I put a industrial 10 amp plug on the machine and it's been fine, even running on long extension leads. Don't know if that's technically correct or too spec but I haven't had any issues with it running on 10 amp outlets.

No it's just a Tig and stick welder. I just did a review on one of their new mig welders, it was pretty good. Mig 205 Pro.

looks good mate i love your show keep it up, i have a heart pace maker , was told by the cardiologist not to use a stick welder, he say i can use a mig , when i asked him about a plasma cutter he didn't know what it was and a tig he didn't know what it was, what's your thought about this , ive used the plasma cutter since whats youre thinking about this mate , thanks

I'm not a doctor so I really can't comment, but this machine does have a high frequency start which is high voltage and low amps. Kind of like an electric fence on steroids. I couldn't imagine that playing into your favor

@@pkgoldopalhunting Just be careful - HF TIG, especially AC/DC can mess up car key FOBS & more rarely smart phones - my welding instructor has seen happen to a couple of students who forgot to leave they FOBS in their lockers, with this happening to one guy twice.

Yes I have had that happen with other cheap brands, but this one is spot on. It might be different if you are running it on 110 v, being in Australia I don't have the ability to test that. I was pleasantly surprised with the performance of this machine and I'm not just saying that, I've been using it as my main welder in my fabrication shop on-site and off site, sometimes 6 days a week and it hasn't let me down.
