Arcee toys aren't selling? That's concerning...I can confirm that I've seen an errant Arcee on a peg or two, here in New York. It's weird because we haven't had a G1 Arcee since the 86' movie originally- now they're in abundance. I agree thoug! Arcee and other fembots need to integrate parts of the vehicle into their bodies for a more interesting figure; the Legacy Elita-1 mold does this really well, I think.

Legacy Elita-1 is a horribly underrated toy. I liked her way more than any car Arcee. As said in the video, the first G1 style Arcee made for normal retail was 2014's Thrilling 30s Arcee, which was easily available for 8 years after release.

They really did it to themselves. The design of the character doesn’t lend itself very well to having the car parts contribute to the robot mode, and she doesn’t have the bulk to hide those car parts away, so the only way to make a transforming toys is just to put it all on her back. That’s why I prefer Animated Arcee or Prime Arcee when it comes to the toys. Basically every version of Arcee that isn’t G1 seems to be more successful at being the car instead of wearing the car.

I'm inclined to agree, but accuracy to Floro Dery's designs is what a lot of people value most I'm afraid. They are in most cases the definitive versions of those characters in pop culture. This is why I prefer the design ethos of Classics and Universe 2.0, where they were updating and reinventing characters.

Yeah. Going down to 18 was new and much better since old Legion were about 15~16.

I was thinking about why there isnt a version of Arcee like this. or a similar Retool from the Elita 1 legacy figure.

G1 accuracy. No one really wants updated G1 ala Classics, they just want G1 cartoon accuracy.

This is one of my most hated toys. I thought id give it a go, and because of how fiddly it is, I couldnt stand it and a chucked into my $5 bin when I sell at toy shows. Its still there.

It's the idea of it that appeals to me. I've never found "tuck her under the car" 30s/Earthrise/86 Arcee a good design, just one forced by loyalty to the cartoon.
