Every main game since Gold and Silver has been titled based on a specific legendary Pokemon, and even some side games like XD have been as well. Each and every time that happens, you can fight that box legendary. Much of the time, you are flat out forced to fight that box legendary. Sometimes, you're forced to catch them, too!

I'm sure we both agree. Anyone saying "well we know they fight.." is just inconsiderate. A less extreme and more relevant example is showing Batman and Superman fighting on an island in the thumbnail. Sure we can assume they will fight in the movie, but we don't know what the content of the fight will be or where. By showing where they will fight, you could potentially invalidate other scenes. For example, if early in the movie, batman is fighting superman in Gotham and it looks like he died, but I know there is a scene of him fighting on an island (because of the "spoiler"), then I'd say you were spoiled because you know they have to fight later and batman isn't really dead. Maybe I think this way because I can put two and two together from scenes. My only issue with this video is that the thumbnail reveals where the fight takes place. This causes the same potential showing any clip from a scene can spoil anything. I am guessing you will agree with me on this, but if you click and watch anything with what seems to be a spoiler in the title, then you played yourself. However, if a thumbnail reveals more information than you could have guessed up, then I'd say it can be reasonably seen as a spoiler. Its not as simple as "just don't watch the video" because the thumbnail put images in your head already.

It seems like a lot of leekers see this game as a step in the right direction, but man... This boss fight looks so soulless. The mon and the trainer just blankly stare at each other for a few seconds, then they "fight" with really repetitive and predictable attack patterns in what is essentially an empty void with a fancy floor design. I think it says a lot about how shite the series has become when this is a massive improvement.

If you wanted to play a game like this, you could get any of the modern Monster Hunter titles and you'd have more character customization options, a cute critter that follows you and actually keeps up with you, monsters that interact with the environment and boss fights that aren't over in 10 minutes and require more than two button inputs to win. Dodge roll, dodge roll, spam x, let your OP Pokemon use one attack, mash x. How fucking boring.

I'm aware I am very much in the minority on this one, but the "exciting" gameplay of chucking bags at a boss Pokemon just so your team can steamroll it at the end just looks incredibly hollow and fails to sell me on the game. I'd rather each Pokemon had a weak point that you had to watch for when it's exposed, and balm it like 3 times in the total fight to subdue it. Dodge rolling to avoid wild attacks is cool and all but it just makes me feel like more exciting gameplay was planned at some point in development but Game Freak couldn't figure out how to make Pokemon controls work.

Agreed, the gameplay looks incredibly boring. I find it fun that your trainer gets to join in on the fights, but they basically only have one attack and a dodge roll and that makes every fight extremely repetitive. Arceus has like 4 attack patterns and the fight doesn't seem to pick up in intensity. This doesn't feel like you're fighting a god. Nothing about this feels exciting.

I think Legend Arceus is way superior to SS, specially the Open World compared to Wild Areas, but man, this is their 4th Pokemon game on Switch (let's GO, SS, BDSM -idc about the fact it's ILCA, because Masuda is credited in BDSM-), it's 4 years after BOTW, and they're still way much behind. If Legend Arceus wasn't a Pokemon Game, it would have been bashed. But the thing i despise the most here, it's the fact they introduce all those new pokemons / forms, and they will be frozen in time in Legend or in Home with 0 possibility to play on gen 8, and we don't even know if they will be available in gen 9. I think Pokemon was great before 3DS (still love XY / ROSA), but man, they really don't care, don't they? But i admit Legend Arceus is a good Pokemon Game on Switch, as a side game.

Ngl i’m not a fan of this type of gameplay, I thought the mobile action based combat would be amazing but it just doesn’t feel very Pokémon to me and it seems souless, unexciting and repetitive…Then again I’ve yet to play it for myself to determine if I truly like it or not but from observing I can say i’m not sold on it. I am glad that Pokémon is branching out into a new direction however so big ups for them trying something different!

This game so much progress for what I wanted for the pokemon franchise. unfortunately, the small details still make it look like it's in a pre-release state. The walking cycle, the jagged edges, the character model.. maybe the lack of pokemon - i haven't seen too much footage but I haven't seen more than 5 pokemon on screen at once. Multi battles would be awesome, having a hoard of 3-5 wild pokemon gang up in a fight like the SOS system from s/m.. its so good, but it seems to be missing the finishing touches

The trailers made this game look super simple and repetitive mechanically, and if this is the last and hardest fight in the game (it is God after all), I'm assuming the game is even simpler and easier than they let on. The last fight is supposed to be a culmination of the all the games systems, a test of your understanding of the mechanics, or at least be a spectacle to go out on. This looks aggressively mediocre. You push dodge, you mash throw, then one-shot it with a Lv100. There has to be more to it than that right? If there is, I didn't see it.

Trust me, the game is challenging. Alpha pokemon are BEASTS and catching pokemon is really fun too. Idk if it gets easier later on, but I beat Kleavor and it's looking like this will be my favourite pokemon game so far. Also, blacking out is actually punishing, you lose like half your items.

I would rank this as the 4th hardest noble/boss fight. tbh feels more like a "victory lap" of sorts, since Arceus' movepool seems to draw inspiration from some of the other bosses attacks (especially Dialga/Palkia). But this isn't really the game's hardest boss fight. That would go to a certain character who battles you with a team of eight fucking Pokemon, that you can easily be underleveled for.

Notice how Arceus slows down its Judgment attack when its against the human player? You can see how it can actually fire even more rapid barrage of lights when its againts a Pokemon. Probably it acknowledges your physical limitations and decided to actually hold back against you

It's especially odd because the folks complaining about spoilers are complaining that the title (revealing that there's an Arceus battle in a game named after it) or the thumbnail (an image of the player and Arceus on a white floor under a night sky) spoil something profound about the game. That's top tier spoiler sensitivity, but coming from folks who didn't think to take measures to avoid the spoilers the day before release, despite how hard it often is to avoid actual major spoilers as the release date approaches if you have feeds cultivated to throw information about the game at you. Most people who want to avoid even insignificant spoilers will do so by refusing to open social media for a period of time before release until they can play through the game, because they know that it's very likely they'll start seeing talk in their usual locations about things they want to find out for themselves. They certainly won't stay subscribed to someone who primarily discusses the series, then check their KZbin notifications and go "oh no, a white floor and night sky? A boss battle with the character the game is named after?! You've ruined the game for me!"

As a long time Pokémon fan and player I think this game is a great refreshment, compared to the previous ones. Especially the overworld, the battling difficulty and all the references and lore make me love this game so much. However, I have one main problem with it: the nobles (and Arceus!). Most nobles I beat by the skin of my teeth, after having a lot of continue using the current gauge. The Arceus battle is só tough for me I can't even empty the first gauge. USUM Ultra Necrozma was the last Pokémon boss as hard as Arceus, but at least it was possible to strategise around it. With my motoric skills, this Arceus remains practically unbeatable and it makes me sad.

I was worried when I heard that you can catch Arceus legit now, because knowing Gamefreak they'd probably mess it up, but I think this is executed perfectly. Arceus is an enigmatic character, so I'm glad they made it really hard to catch, not only in terms of catching all the Pokemon, but this fight itself is pretty difficult too (if you're not using continues). It truly emphasizes that Arceus is only to be caught by those who are worthy. Also you have to beat Volo, so that instantly makes it the hardest Pokemon to catch ever lmao

@@inari3217 i agree. The big problem is that there is only one ”weapon”, and it’s a boring one. Yeah you can’t hurt pokemons, but come oooon. No sword allowed? Replace it with a mystical torch or something? The goal seems to be to calm down the pokemon? Make some kind of tether weapon? And why not make a shielding mechanic? I don’t know there could have been a lot of interesting ideas that could have been done to emulate a real fight, without crossing the violence line. It’s a shame honestly. Also it’s not normal that the pokemon fight at the end is so easy lol

Glad to see Legends: Arceus put much more effort into what this encounter should be like visually. But comparing the fan animation Arceus event one, it still nails fine details (like shading) much better. Sure, GameFreak did get a lot of the model movement less uncanny valley (but too stiff) But the fact that a single person doing this in their spare time can make a cinematic that trades blows quality-wise with an official work of the #1 earning franchise should be pretty damning to GameFreak. Still a massive improvement of course, but shows how far behind they are with the industry

Astronishing how much content there is of a one day old game. My take: It looks good. It is much more exciting than the past titles. The mechanics are creative, like a 3D Touhou game. But it is weak when you think about what Monster Hunter Stories did with the same mechanics. And in Rise you have so much more to discover on a semi open world. This game is a masterpiece imo after this battle. Plus I never owned an Arceus in my entire Pokémon journey starting in Gens 6-8 even in Gen 4 and 3 obviously. This game was like a series finally. Also this is the first time in any Pokémon game where I completed the dex. In previous games there wasn’t anything special to get for completing the Dex just a Thank you for catching Pokémon certificate and the crowns in Gen 8 was an underwhelming reward. But in legends Arceus they gave me a reason to complete the dex. I LITERALLY GET A MYTHICAL POKÉMON WHICH IS A GOD OF EVERYTHING. Getting a Pokémon like that for completing the dex is worth it imo. Plus after catching Arceus you are able to do rematches with both Palkia and Dialga as well as Arceus, but they are more challenging which is fun. Literally the greatest Pokémon game I played since Sun and Moon

2 minutes 20 sec to be in battle and cannot be skip. Another boss battle and thats hard that its cutscene or dialog cannot be skip before battle. There is Miguel battle chrono cross and there is Yunalesca ffx. Both are hard one too.

lol at the intro with the flute. (it's an ocarina guys come on) Pokemon keeps trying to make something as epic as Lugia's song but at this point I think we all know they'll never get there. Speaking of never achieving something epic, the insistence of in-game cutscenes is absolutely killing me, MAKE A PRE RENDERED CUTSCENE DARN YOU, SOMEONE, ANYONE, PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GAMING USE THE TECHNOLOGY OF CGI ANIMATION TO MAKE A LITERAL MEETING WITH "GOD" ACTUALLY FEEL LIKE IT. Also the gameplay looks boring, looks like if a literal mobile game was trying to knock off something like Dark Souls, I can't know how fun it actually is because I haven't played but an encounter with the in-game literal god of everything looking like this just underwhelms me so hard to the point where I'm happy to be spoiled as actually hyping myself up for it would lead to shocking disappointment.

Ths boss fights are definitely the weakest part of the game, they took a flat arena but could not utilise it to its fullest, the attacks are cool but the lack of progressively difficult boss phases ruins it. There is a reason why boss phases are so popular among game devs, they actually contribute to a good boss fight that you feel satisfied when you beat. Perhaps Arceus should have gone in 'battle mode' at 2/3 HP which on defeating would change its attacks to be stronger and wider then another 'battle mode' at 1/3 HP but this time it gains +1 in all stats to sweep you and finally a last phase where its weakened and stays in one place but first attacks so that you have to get to it to land the finishing blows. Also an end game boss like Arceus should totally be overlevelled to account for level 100 pokemon being used, Arceus should be atleast Level 85. Other ideas like creating Dialga or Palkia mid-battle like totem allies from Gen 7 or horde battles where Arceus just summons strong pokemon or assist it or its so strong that you use multiple Pokemon at once to battle it... but these are just ideas, there are many. Will Game Freak ever learn about the true potential of Pokemon games? I don't have an answer for that. Thanks for reading my oponion on the internet.
