I get the affection system and taking away agency and choice from players, but when they give you a mythical, it is your choice to use it or not, they are giving you the choice to use it or not. I always find legendaries kind of meaningless, they're post game but you cannot basically use it anywhere, now if I want I can feel like superman while creating a bond with my mythical, so yeah, let me have my legendary soon and if you want to wait badge #7 to use yours, it is your choice. That isn't a sin in my eyes. But besides that, they kind of drop the ball in this remake, it was pretty disappointing. The good thing is the unite engine lol

I haven't picked up D/P since Platinum came out. Platinum was the improved version of DP. Now that BDSP came out, I don't have to pick up DP anymore. Diamond and Pearl are their own games, Platinum is it's own game, and I prefer it that way. I just played BDSP a few days ago and I actually like it. It's a lot better than the originals, I like the quality of life improvements. It's faster than DP, and I like the gameplay. So I don't see what went wrong with this game. It's great!

RORONORA, ZORO! that ditto behemoth blade animation cracked me up

0:59 Just wanna point out how efficiently the game conveys info about bosses before you fight them. (I know the same is true for the opening with RavenBeak, but this one is right before the boss, so it's fresher) First, the boss introduces itself, letting the player know it can cloak. Then, the missile shot to the head lets you know that missiles are the most effective way to deal with it. And finally, Samus slides under the boss, which comes up later. It's a fantastic way of showing information. So efficient that, since I had already collected a large deal of the available missile expansions, I was able to take the boss down on the first try.

I love how it goes from sandstorm to blizzard in a matter of seconds. Would hate to live there.

The rumble models would’ve been PERFECT for this game, at least they would’ve gotten more use. These remakes- or rather remasters - really were the biggest waste of time and resources.

And some people have the gall to say the remakes are worse than the originals! Not as good as Platinum, sure fine, but *WORSE* than *OG DP???* The box anywhere and no HMS *ALONE* make BDSP better than DP. A game that doesn't take 10 years to get through, what a concept!

I guess ill say something controversial in defense of the xp share... Switch training isnt fun or engaging. I was in middle school when the red blue came out and there was nothing engaging about swapping out magikarps and abras. It was pointless tedium. Its such a lame complaint since it doesnt do anything players couldnt do arbitrarily on their own. In fact, many nuzlockers use candies so they dont have to switch train or grind. Its boring and the xp share keeps the game on the rails.

The most successful games in the last years have all been the challenging ones that don’t hold the player’s hand and let them struggle, get lost and figure things out on their own. But somehow they don’t get the hint 🤷🏻‍♂️

HGSS had Crystal stuff. ORAS had Emerald stuff (even if it wasn’t a lot). I don’t understand why this game was unwilling to have even a sliver of Platinum’s improvements.

You can hate the remake as much as you want just those small changes that speed up the battles and whole party getting exp it just make more sense to play the remakes
