@Dylan Harshman The attention to detail was completely non existent, storyline was good and was good time burner but the little details coulve made this a great short film. Biggest gripe, why they hell are random rags tied around his wrists, looks dumb and serves no purpose, why is he burying his guns in the sand, why the would he throw his rifles to the ground then draw his pistol, and why would he run straight at 4 aggressors, when he finally does use his rifles the dust cover of the chamber is closed the entire time when it would actually flip open when the bolt cycles, little girl says they will stick to the edge of town in the shadows but then looks like they cut straight through the center, the demon boss is totally unarmed? Dont buy it, and that was a pretty lack luster final battle and some super cheesy fighting to boot Can I do better? Nope but maybe the constructive criticism can make one of the next projects for these guys an excellent little gem of a short film

One of the best apocalyptic shorts I've seen in a while. It struck me like a graphic novel successfully brought to life, working on many levels besides the visual. The quirkiness grabbed my attention, but the human story (as well as the action, of course!) held it. As well, I liked the deeper symbolism of Michael the "Arch"angel battling the mutant devil to save Lilly. I expect Preston Yarger (and company) will find much success in the future.

flyyynt i’m blind but I still enjoy watching these programs/short films, I get confused when no talking is done as obviously I can’t see the action, but this comment pretty much summed up everything I thought was going on I agree that Mike comes across as the angel Michael and figured there was a battle with some sort of devil/the rotors. Lilly being so innocent and young doesn’t quite get the whole angels and Demons thing, so she comes up with the name “the rotors“, I also got the feeling that when she found something and put it on Mike, it made him appear more angel like, if you could let me know what he and the Demon look like that would be much appreciated, as I know this is a sci-fi short film talking about religion.

Destiny meant for them to meet each other. Their connection was instantaneous despite the survival of the fittest feel going on. You can feel their care, firece protection and loyalty instantly. She is 1 special little girl. Great short and acting.

Oh my goodness, that was freaking cinema magic. I watch a lot of post-apocalyptic movies and this one really stood out as one of my all-time favorites. I'd take time to dwell on its perfections, but you already know what you did right, so I'll be brief. Your take on the disappearing angel/protector trope was delightfully fresh, your wardrobing was pitch perfect, your casting spot on target (that face, those eyes!), cinematography, camera work, and editing all stellar, CGI well-meshed (except the blood spatter--sorry, hard to get that exactly right). Will definitely watch again. Max props!

Half Mad Max and half Fallout. Well done. Everything was great about this. Who ever did the camera work really did bring the script alive with all the amazing shot and vise versa. I've seen quite a few short films and none are as good as this one. I do believe you have a chance at that Venture Film Festival. I would submit it. I really would.

I really liked this. The biblical reference and symbolism was spot on, even down to the footprints in the sand, which is a statement of faith recognized by so many. I'm five years late to the audience, but the message is timeless. I didn't want it to end, but I think the story is told. Either way, kudos to all who created a moment of fantasy that inspires the viewer with a meaningful message and the promise of hope.

The cinematography is breathtaking, on par with Hollywood level. The colour of the sand dune is *magical* - the director of photography is créme de la créme, send my salute to him. The action are serious job accompanied with right music - well planned well executed. @ 20:20 minutes I hold back my emotion watching the archangel try comforting the girl. The climax was *marvelous*

The waste land marauders' costumes were a little derivative but the two main characters more than made up for that. The idea that she was guided through the desert and protected by an Archangel was great! It kept me watching and entertained, the end was worth the wait. Which is more than can be said of many shorts.

This is an example of post-apocalyptic storytelling done right. Everything from the costumes to the dialogue to the title itself informs the narrative and paints an incredible picture. It's visual storytelling is top-notch. Mike's costume is perfectly designed to evoke the theme of an archangel from his poses to the tassels that make his arms look like wings. The villains' demon-inspired look is right on the money. I wish I could get these guys to work on one of my stories for a short film.

@@RRodriguez1904 I think you have it figured out: the character MIKE ( Michael the Arch-Angel the Warrior, hence the title of the movie)....Lilly talking about her Mom mentioning Guardian Angels but never could adequately explain it to the girl....Babylon= the world gone mad and in control of the Devil and her needing to make her way through it in order to get to safety and Mike ( Michael) battling the forces of darkness to make it possible. And then when MIke's job was done, he went back to the spiritual Realm from whence he had come, leaving behind no trace.

at first the premise felt a bit corny and cliche but that's unavoidable with this subject and what was done with it blew my mind. Excellent short film and it really does feel like the setup for a awesome fps or something. The silent badass hero getting the girl to safety fighting monsters along the way really could easily be adapted as a video game.

Fantastic job all around. In the overwelming sea of increasingly impressive short films being uploaded, yours is singularly outstanding. In light of my respect for the talent and hard work exhibited, I am hesitant to volunteer any criticism...but strictly as an opinion, I feel you'd have an even more powerful film if it ended at 28:43. Fading to black on the silhouettes of the approaching soldiers gives just the right amount of info to make an assumption for a simple ending, and ambiguous enough to generate interest and engage those who want to see more.

That's certainly one way it could have ended, but for me it's important to have the ending in the hospital to show the full completion of Lilly's character arch and demonstrate how she has changed after her journey with Mike. If the film ended upon his death, I'm afraid it would be empty because we don't see the full change in Lilly.
