Don't forget to remove the /arch-install-base and ~/arch-install-base directories when you're done. Otherwise you'll have scripts laying around with your passwords in plaintext.

Ermanno You are awesome!! Respect to you, Sir. I've been following your channel since 1 year and Its remarkable that you are still giving out these monthly and yearly updates.

That was a great video. It's really cool that you've made those bash scripts. When I first watched one of your videos to do my first installation, you were saying "sudo" (pseudo) and editing with nano. Now you've really got it together ; )

At 23:30 when you open the gnome.sh with vim in the firewall settings you are opening ports 1025 to 65535 for both tcp and udp. It sets this setting for the public zone in firewalld. Is there a reason you are doing this? I'm confused. Isn't that unsafe?

Ermanno, thank you for the work you do. I have thoroughly enjoyed watching your videos and I have learned so much. rEFInd seems to be simple enough. I am guessing that it should be pretty easy to replace grub, but I hate to screw up and have to reload an awesome system. Ermanno, would it be possible to do a video showing how to do that? I don't like asking people to do something that is not trivial, but you are the man that we trust. Please?

After reading up on it, apparently BRTFS is not compatible with anything but GRUB, so I guess I will stick with GRUB. LOL

Hey Ermanno. I was just thinking about you wondering, "where's Ermanno's content"? Nicely served up if I may say so. Thank you!

Hey, I know I'm not posting much these days; it became kind of difficult to post regularly since my new position. I'll see how it will go in the next weeks.

If LightDM prevents you from booting (for whatever reason), press CTRL + ALT + F3 to switch tty Then you can check logs for systemd and lightdm from there.

is there a reason you use ALL=(ALL) for sudo instead of using the WHEEL group? i’m modifying your script to work for me and i haven’t seen that used before. thanks so much for these videos and scripts they’re super helpful!

I think you should show how to install arch and others like Ubuntu with snapper configured exactly like opensuse where in one can boot from a snapshot and do a rollback with a simple command. No need to boot from any boot able iso for restore.
@ayushakarsh65462 жыл бұрын
I think you can do the same in btrfs file system very quickly using timeshift gui. I have been using that on my MX Linux 21 XFCE

... i do not understand the reason for deploying a monthly install video ... is there a monthly diff in the proc of how to inst arch ?
@eflinux2 жыл бұрын
It's a different ISO for one, and every month I install with different combinations. It might not be interesting to everyone, but if it is just only for some, it is already worth for me doing it.

Took me a week to find out WTF and the people making all these wild decisions need to put it in black and white! If I had not had pamac installed I would have never figured out what all 5 extra so called firmwares are because the wiki doesn't tell nothing but the hacked up the firmware package like idiots they have become! The iso keeps getting bigger without getting anything better! My take on it is that someone needs to leave things alone that are not broken!
