Archaeological Discoveries in Ireland: SLU Expert Thomas Finan, Ph.D.

Saint Louis University history professor Thomas Finan, Ph.D., has focused his research on an area in Ireland known as North Roscommon, around a particular lake called Lough Key. There, he and his teams of researchers think they may have discovered the site of an ancient gaelic marketplace that, until now, has only been referenced in historical texts. Dr. Finan's work as the associate director for the Center of Medieval and Renaissance Studies at Saint Louis University has allowed him to combine his passion for history, archaeology and Ireland with his love of teaching.
