South African archaeologists have rediscovered an ancient lost city known as Kweneng using laser technology.
The researchers - who are with the University of Witwatersrand - have been studying the site in the Suikerbosrand National Park for decades.
But it was not until cutting-edge laser technology known as LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) became available in recent years that they were able to study the ruins in detail from above, and discovered that what they thought was only a scatter…

Are they still there?I want to visit these tombs and places because Mpumalanga is very central in understanding the old testament. It has the caves that King David hid in when Saul was after him.

@@ochiengoduor6843All of that happen in the Nile Valley and Israel. King David, was evil he was a European. The Bible tells the story backwards making the African Egyptians evil and making the white people Godly when it was the other way around it was the Europeans that enslaved Egyptians who were Sub Saharan African. Europeans were going to starve to death the Egyptians took them in and then they double-crossed them and took over their Kingdom and made the Egyptians slaves for 200 years Egyptians got the kingdom back the Europeans came back again and they had to run out to sub-Saharan Africa and then they come back and they enslaved Africans. Look up Dr. Henrik Clarke.

When I was kid growing up in Canada I remember reading books about South Africa that White people bring in civilization while it was only simple Khoisan nomadic people live there, while the so called Bantu people just move to South Africa almost same time when the Dutch landed on Cape coast are. But this evidence show that Black South Africans did have civilization before the Caucasian invasion who build stone towns and cities before 1652...the year the Boers ancestors arrive from Holland.

Not necessarily black south Africans (referring to the Bantu/Bantoid groups) but maybe the ancestors of the Khoekhoe and San peoples? what I would like to know is what happened to them, since the dates from the video would likely put them from long before the Boers arrived so obviously something apocalyptic happened to force them into disappearing (possibly a mixture disease from the North and drought like what happened to the major native North American nations before the Colonial states got in there)

Im tswana and clearly some of you are jealous. We tswanas are builders and have been lawful, organized and forward thinking people. That's why Kgosi Mangope wanted Bophuthatswana to be independent before he was dethroned. Why you think Botswana and Lesotho have been independent for so long. The english found the tswanas in botswana already using rocks and mud to build their huts. You guys are disrespecting Batswana. You think we're incapable. Search for eauropeans talking about Lesotho and Botswana. Our spirit is yet to reveal itself as builders, trust me.

Apartheid history curriculum says Africans Arrived in SA in 1700 1800s, it says only the Khoisan ( there's no such tribe called the Khoisan, the took Khoe and Xam and conveniently made them into one tribe). Also apparently, according to Apartheid curriculum, the "Khoisan" are not an African tribe and also had no issues with Europeans taking their land. I asked one pro-Apartheid history white person where the Sotho ( Tswana, South and North Sotho) people came from and when, because unlike the Zulu who are big in stature and the the Zulu language having some similarities with Swahili, the Tswana and Sotho are small in stature, lighter in complexion and their language has no direct cousin in East and Central Africa, this means if they did come from Central Africa, their move happened 1000s of years before the Zulus, hence close genetical resemblance to the "Khoisan" which no one with a brain will believe it happened within a few hundred years. Also the Zulu language and its cousin languages of Southern Africa has very distinct differences from Swahili, this means that the separation happened 1000s ago.

Almost on the money, the origin story of Bakongo (Bantu) is that king Manasseh of Judah sent troops to Egypt (600BC some time) to help guard the Egyptian board with ancient Nubia (because these guys were at war) They ended up staying there for about 200 years and later decided to move because of war and land... They went down to modern day Ethiopia and lived another 500years or so (until Ethiopia started enforcing Sunday after it was decreed by Emperor Constantine in 321AD). They moved down to Dzimbabwe and built the ancient city, after that they spread out to the Kalahari and build a city replicating Jerusalem, and it was called New Jerusalem. From there they moved to various places across sub Saharan Africa, conquering native tribes wherever they went, eventually building 'Kongo'(consisting of modern day Angola, DRC and Congo) as head quarters of Bantu or Bakongo kingdoms.

It's a batswana speaking Bakwena not Basotho,Basotho are a group established by moshoeshoe in the late 1800s who was only born in 1786 of which there was no people called Basotho or language called sesotho, these ruins predates the 15th century. Don't lie because in basotho today there are hlubis and other ngunis who are called Basotho these people found batswana speaking bakwena and bafokeng in this modern day lesotho and free state when running away from tshaka And they started calling them abesuthu(people of the mountains) even moshoeshoe is believed to have been of hlubi descent. And most hlubis speak Xhosa and some isizulu and that's how those batswana speaking bakoena and bafokeng ended up even adopting clicks and mixing nguni with setswana and called the language Sesotho after moshoeshoe established them deriving from abesuthu. And today they have seshoeshoe and they speak seshoeshoe because it's moshoeshoe who established them. Just like the zulus are named after Tshaka zulu who was also only born in the 1700s 1787 and established a group in the late 1800s after his name now there are zulus before tshaka there were no people called zulu or who spoke a language called zulu. The people who stayed in kweneng were speaking an ancient language Setswana in the South of Jo'burg Thaba ya batswana is located there. So stop lying.
