Beautiful and very informative video. I like the way your videos are set up, like a university lecture. Some jokes every now and then 😁

I like to consider the Archaic period as the renaiscence of the the greek world, whereas the classical period being actually the enlightment..

Is there any info on the weapons supposedly used in the Trojan war and why they don't seem to fit together chronologically?

Hi, when can we expect the "Classical Greece" videos you alluded to? Would love to watch them
@ThersitestheHistorian6 жыл бұрын
I will probably put them out at some point this summer. The lectures are ready to go, it is just a matter of finding the time to record them and being in the right mood for a class lecture when I don't have any kind of necessity driving me to record it.

Thersites the Historian Haha understandable! Well, I'll look forward to it. Would also love lectures dedicated solely to Sparta and/or Athens, since it sounded like you were holding yourself back in these.

Guessing that the oceans were condensed from the atmosphere is a pretty impressive shot in the dark considering that all of the water on Earth’s surface was at one point either vapor in the atmosphere or trapped within the Earth’s crust. It was only when the Earth cooled down a bunch that liquid water could condense and rain onto the surface or percolate up from the crust without instantly evaporating.

Firstly I'd want to thank you very much for structured material. I like your style. However in this video you did the common error in providig photo of Athena Pronaia instead of actual temple of Appolo in Delphi, please correct if possible.

I don't see any value in focusing on the alleged 'mysogyny' of someone who lived 2700 years ago. Aside from anything else, there is no way of knowing if his views were any different to any other man of the time. Nor is there any way of knowing if women had any better view of men. The references to women in the work are quite insignificant in the overall work.

How university logics work: The pre-Socratic philosophers had no idea they would come before Socrates, so we´d better not call them pre-Socratic Also university professors: The Byzantine Empire starts around 620 AD... Come on guys, you´re supposed to be intelligent ;)
