@@praj8058 It's essentially just a male pronoun but used as a term of endearment. The female version of it is di. But it is common to see folks use da for women as well these days as slang. It has similar usage to the Hindi yaar BUT it doesn't specifically mean friend. Like I said, it is more like a pronoun.
