It's really sad considering we spent 3 other seasons with this same dry humor, begging for Archer to wake up and get back to what we love. Now he's awake, and things are the way they are now...if the creators were trying to make the audience feel the same dismay and confusion as Archer, they sure as hell accomplished it.

Lana thinks she's moving on from Archer and taking control of her life, but she's really just distracting herself, and I feel like her sending AJ to boarding school in Switzerland without considering how Archer would feel about it is tantamount to straight-up child abandonment. Lana's a lot more like Malory than she's willing to admit. Cyril may be more physically capable and confident now, but he's still a smug, whiny borderline-incel. The rest of the gang hasn't changed too much in demeanor, but it's not as glaring with them because their circumstances are pretty much the same. Yes. Cheryl semi-changed briefly, but everyone knew that wouldn't last. Maybe, however, Archer, Lana, and Cyril will change for real relatively soon, although once they stop being dysfunctional, that's when the show should probably end.

I felt sorry for Archer. I can understand Lana’s reasons for moving on but the fact that Malory and Pam were basically the only people that cared that he woke up really makes me sad for him more. Don’t get me wrong, he isn’t the nicest character in TV history but the fact that he has developed a lot since Season 1 has had me gained a new respect for him (not saying I hated him in season 1 onwards. I don’t condone most of his decisions but he is funny to look at and I do feel bad for him when he gets in a little over his head) I just can’t hate or dislike Archer. Seeing his upbringing has had some understanding to his behavior throughout the series. I know that that’s not an excuse but regardless. Seeing Archer being there for Lana at the end of Season 12 has proved he developed a lot. And, I hope that his relationship with Lana will get back.

Who says she couldn’t have been grieving Archer (who lets be honest, after even 4 months in a coma, you start to question if they’ll ever wake up, let alone 8) even after she met Robert? Meeting doesn’t mean immediately start dating - that could have been like a year or more. Yeah marriage was surprising but at the same time, someone she loved and had known for a long time was likely dead. There’s a strong urge to move on sometimes from that serious pain. Interestingly, while he’s definitely over familiar and touchy, it looks like Robert *might* get that - the weird dynamic between Archer and Lana and what they mean to each other. Obviously Archer waking up threw her for a loop seeing as she was avoiding him. Otherwise she’d have had no trouble talking to him. Or there’s something we don’t know and nothing is what it seems. Always a possibility.

I've honestly felt sorry for him since Day 1. Well, not from the very first episode. I mean, he definitely was a mean-spirited character. However, as the series continued, you can kinda understand why he turned out the way he did. He had very few to no friends growing up and didn't know his father at all. He had an overbearing, strict, and strained relationship with his mother. He was severely bullied in school to the point where he was in a coma for 5 weeks and had pneumonia. Now that's not an excuse to how he behaves now but no one is perfect, and everyone reacts differently. It almost seemed like that the only father figures Archer ever had been Woodhouse and McGinley. I applaud Woodhouse for always being there for Archer growing up and I always feel bad for him when Archer seems to critique and criticize him over the littlest of thing. I think it was at that point that it was too late for Archer as he's bully him from time to time. But and this is just my theory, I think Archer has a tough way to express his gratitude towards people, and even though this was a dream in his coma, he did show concern for Woodhouse when he was shot and vowed to find the person responsible for it. McGinley was definitely the one who mentored Archer into becoming the ladies' man he is today. I think this was established after Katya's death at the wedding, but I think Archer said he avoids showing care for his comrades, so he doesn't go through the same trauma and pain he felt when Katya "died". Archer does have some redeeming moments. Like how he is willing gave Lana his scuba suit when he found out she was pregnant. He offered to be Pam's date to her sister's wedding. He comforted a crying Lana after she found out Robert had cheated on her. Archer didn't even say anything. He just saw her weeping on the bed and placed his hand on her shoulder. To which, she gently held his hand. It's moments like these where I can see character development in Archer. He not the nicest cartoon character but he does show potential and is developing.

I love that the animators are so detail-oriented that they make this clear with Lana's eyes. Just look at her eyes. She looks expectantly, like Archer will ask her the question she wants to be asked: "Do you love him?" Instead he drives this very serious conversation into the gutter of all the things wrong with Archer as a human being--the superficial, the stupid, the vapid. Who the hell cares about this guy's skin! THIS is the reason why Lana could never love Archer. I totally get why she would float away from Archer in 8 months. Totally, totally get it.

Edson Senho imo, the dream seasons aren’t horrible. I laughed out loud quite a few times. But yeah they have no real meaning to the story, but they are brought up every so often in season 11. I’d watch them if you have free time, but again they don’t have any real meaning to the plot

Wow Lana really is the worst * She took archers sperm and had his child without his knowledge. * Archer tried to be a good parent even though Lana pushed him away and even refused to let Archer 1: Marry her so the child had a family, 2: be apart of her life even though they started dating again. 3: refused to let Archer be the babies guardian if Lana died which would legally and literally cut him out of the child's life. * Refused to wait for him to come out of his coma and married someone much older and richer then her ( we can all see where this is going ) . A child that young not only needs education but also their parents love and affection which is the one thing boarding school can't provide, that's one of the reasons Archer is the way he is (even though Malory wouldn't even provide him that at home) and he doesn't want that same feeling of isolation and emotional neglect for his daughter. Lana seems like she couldn't care less about AJ's feelings and is basically doing what her parents did to her when they negated her feelings and tried to push her into a career in science.

Sterling is one of my favroute characters in anything but he's the worst person no doubt. It's no surprise he's not liked by anyone. But unless the writters really, REALLY go out of their way to make both Archer and Lana grow as human beings and learn to love each other not just tolerate and compensate for each others flaws, I don't see them ever becoming a happy couple.
