This is Part 2 of the "Beginning Archery"Series. This new installment focusses on so many critical elements of the next 2 steps in your process. I elaborate more on shoulder position and release hand position (Anchor Position). I show Bryce a handheld release for the first time and show him how to use it. Here's a rundown of what we cover.
1: Adding to your BOX
2: Describing the front shoulder position
3: "EXCEPTIONS to the RULES"
4: T- Formation FACTS
5: Scapula and Skeletal Postiions
6: When to CANCEL your shot
7: How to Handle a Handheld Release
8: Anchoring position and how it affects arrow clearance
9: First Time anchoring and what to feel for
10: How practice with Anchor, Preloading back wall pressure.
11: practice REPS

I'm impressed by the ability of this kid to listen attentively, very quietly and just execute. An elite athlete right there.

I’m realizing after watching this video series. it’s never too late to totally reconstruct your shot & improve your fundamentals even for someone who’s been shooting for years. This series has helped me identify where I need some serious work. Breaking bad habits sucks but it’s never too late. John, I appreciate all your contributions to archery

This channel is really expediting my learning process. Shooting for less than a month and it’s already helping me have consistent groups at 20 and 30 yards. Thanks so much John! Excited to see the next parts on this series. Also making my way through the seasons of School of Nock.

Awesome series. I'm just starting out myself and the fact that Brice is being quiet and taking everything in, helps me focus on the training. I've saved this to its own playlist and I'm looking forward to the next video. Thank you both for the free education. I'll buy a silverback when I have the money. 🙏🙏🙏

Love the Dud. Thought he might be a wise guy😂and when the student has his hands on his scapula might have said move your fingers in now and scratch. Gotta have fun 😊

I use the simulator not only during commercials, but all the time when I watch TV. It seems to me that the best result is pushing the bow away from yourself, judging by the flight of the bareshaft, and not just pulling with one hand with the release.

Hi John! I'm 54 and used to bow hunt 20 years ago but yesterday was the first time I shot a bow in decades and man does the age make a difference. You mentioned in this video a back tension release would be great for new archers. I was wondering if it might be good for getting back into the game?

As I watch ths video I am reminded of the reverse pivot in a golf swing which is the worst bad habit to do in your golf swing. John, you need to have some clinics for your youtube subscribers!
