Josh, besides the fact that Darton delivered a superb product, you have really hit your stride on the bow reviews. This is arguably the best bow review on KZbin. It really looks like you've worked things out and your confidence in your presentation shows. Well done brother 👏👏👏

I love the content!! Thanks for doing all of this testing!! Just wanted to throw this out there about decibels: Sound and music technology The 3 dB rule states that when the volume of a sound is increased by 3 decibels (dB), the power of the sound doubles. This rule is useful for adjusting volume levels and ensuring consistency across different locations.
@BassWhoopinFishingTeamАй бұрын
Darton coming out absolutely swinging for 2025. Hoyt, PSE, and Mathews better step it up. Bowtech, Elite, and now Darton have press less tuning available on their flagship models. That is HUGE.

Thank you for the video, i was leaning towards a new Lift. Darton wasn't even a manufacturer i was considering, but now.... it definitely is, and i need to find a shop that carries them.
@robertwells6220Күн бұрын
I was going to purchase a lift 29.5 last year. Then the cracks started happening. I ended up going with the sequel 31. The local shop carried them and I got it for 300 off msrp. I absolutely love this bow. It is heavier than my Hoyt was but it’s a dream to shoot. I also like having something different than the in crowd. My local range is all lifts. Had a 20 something year old kid tell me he’s never heard of Darton and that made my day. I didn’t get the st as it wasn’t out yet but is a wonderful bow. You definitely won’t regret purchasing it.

Great review, about the only commentary I thought was lacking was how well balanced the bow felt. If the bow is 5 lbs, but all you need is the stubby stabilizer to compensate for a typical bowsight because the bow is bottom-heavy, that alleviates some of the weight concern for me because one does not need to add a lot of additional stabilizer weight. I also like the rigor of the new rating system--extremely challenging for a bow to exceed 75 on a 100 point scale. And also degrees of magnitude more discriminating than anything Lancaster has ever produced. With Lancaster, it's as if they are afraid to say ANYTHING negative. Every change by every manufacturer is GREAT, so it's hard to discern which bows really stand out from watching a Lancaster review. But that tuning system that Darton came out with this year truly looks special.
@LukevanderPlaatАй бұрын
Loving the look of this bow and so good to see someone posting realistic speeds. Love the tune ability of this bow but MFJJ for your question about what else for tuneability i belive Wheeling, timing, draw length, and letoff should be counted for tunabilaty

@alsmada4Ай бұрын
I really love all the content that you and Dan put out because it never seems like y'all have a bias on any product. On that note is there a way you can you do a video explaining how different heights of arrow vanes can affect the arrow flight especially with broadheads? I am completely lost on this thought process.
@renurenovationsllc7780Ай бұрын
I wonder how long it will be till Darton is mysteriously selling gazillions of replacement parts of those string tuner adjusters, all you need is a set of those, and a custom length cable set……would work best for the duel payout binary like Darton uses, or a Mathews system, but could work for ALMOST any bow, could maybe even do it on a straight cable binary, you may just need a short cable with an extra big loop …..Hmmmm
@benjamins7799Ай бұрын
There has to be a way to make the “string tuner adjuster” also micro adjustable for the length of each side to change cam lean like old yoke systems…
@Waty8413Ай бұрын
@@benjamins7799 maybe make the connection point on the do-dad between the cable and the yoke adjustable left/right. This will distribute the pressure on the yoke sides asymmetrically yielding the same effect as lengthening/shortening a side of the yoke.... ....I think.
@FURFEELINGS_3Ай бұрын
@@benjamins7799 you don’t need to cam lean adjust that’s the point on the bolt for the limbs it’s how limbs are designed so it’s the correct way to adjust “ cam lean”
@benjamins7799Ай бұрын
@@FURFEELINGS_3 Yep, and it’s a great idea. I was referring to the possibility of adding cam lean adjustment to a Mathews or any other bow with this type of yoke system as a separate piece or kit that can be added on as @renurenovations||c7780 was describing.
@Waty8413Ай бұрын

I love all of your reviews and this thing is making me want to change from my Sequel 33 😂 My one criticism is on your speed and draw length testing..... Most companies have them rated at 80% let off and while that obviously affects speed.... Definitely changes draw length on bows like the Darton and elite. I bet with the bigger stops on that 35 it would have been spot on for draw length. On my sequel I lost enough draw length with the low let off washers I had to extend my d loop

I shot Darton back around the time of the Allegiance from Bowtech. They were smoother, easy shooting bows then. Then... they kind of fell off for awhile imo. After seeing this, I think Darton has snuck in to the top dog category of bow manufacturers (which I'm happy about, they don't market like others and nor do they need to owning the patents they do) and I'm thinking this might be the bow of choice this off-season... We will see what PSE and Matthew's do. Bear made a banger in the Persist (it's heavy too) but this Darton has surpassed that. The only thing holding me back is the overall weight, I'm not sure I'm to thrilled to pack this bow around for 100kms + chasing elk.... great review.

Darton wasn't really the first to come out with an independent limb adjustment. The PSE Moneymaker had complete individual limb adjustments with a limb bolt for each limb. But PSE did not continue this practice after the Moneymaker. That's a good idea for the cam timing. Being able to twist and untwist cables without a press is a good idea. I'm looking forward to them getting away from the caged riser like most of the other brands have done. I don't care for the extra width.
@johnnewcomb5162Ай бұрын
Darton has come up with thousands of things years ago and has made money from other companies for years, are you sure it was a PSE patent. Mathews, Hoyt, Bowtech Elite and PSE have used Darton patents over the years, Darton has made a ton of money that way.

SPL (sound pressure level) doubles every 3dB. Although an increase of 3 dB represents a doubling of the sound pressure, an increase of about 10 dB is required before the sound subjectively appears to be twice as loud. The smallest change we can hear is about 3 dB. The subjective or perceived loudness of a sound is determined by several complex factors.

This is how you should grade the speed, you should have a 450 gr arrow and at 30 inches if it shoots 275 you give it 7.5 out of 10 if it shoots 285 you give it 8.5 out of 10 if it shoots 305 you give it 10.5 but I doubt any shoot over 300 but 300 would be the perfect 10. Then you always know by looking at your numbers how fast the bow shoots.

Just the "Loadout point" doesn't say much about the string angle at your face without also knowing the distance of that "line" it makes to the grip (or from the point to the axle, we can for the sake of simplicity probably ignore the travel fore and aft of the axle going from brace to full draw, from there on, you can add brace to the equation). Plus where the grip is in relation to the axles affects string angle at face. I'm sure a similar load out point will feel different from a Darton (for example) to specifically a Prime because of where exactly the grip is. Not sure how all other (non Prime) brands compare, but I think they're close.
