The easiest way to do this without having to buy a special target or drawing them with sharpies is to take 3 of those 3 spot vertical target faces. Hang them side-by-side, and you have your 3x3 tic-tac-toe grid! Example is hanging behind nu at 3:04 in the video (although there's 4 of those faces on the butt). Which gives me an idea: archery connect 4?

at our community center that I go to, we do nothing but play games ^-^, for example we play a game of chicken, where we have a balloon on the target and we try to avoid hitting it. well I always try to see how close I can get to the balloon without poping it XD. or we play tic tac toe like you just did, or we play Blackjack, where we have 9 different numbers up (I know its not all of them but close enough) we shoot 3 arrows to try to get 21 points without going over. its really fun. I also personally carry a roll of masking/painter's tape to create boxes on the target. this way I can make them as big or as small as I like and you can make tic tac toe grids. great way for new archers to work on their groupings without having to worry about bullseye

another fun game is bow poker. For added difficulty, we usually make the compound shooters call out the card they intend to hit. This is the target face, amazing game. forces you to focus and aim small.

"people ask me how to make training less boring" How is training boring? It's fun!
@mackemforever8 жыл бұрын
Not all the time it isn't! When your training is 10 dozen arrows a day, and it's winter so every outdoor shoot is freezing cold, and your indoor shoots when it's too wet or windy for outdoors are being done at 4m with nobody else around for company, it's boring as hell!

I Love to keep shooting way more than that and also, I love the cold. so maybe it's just me.

A fun variation could be stealing a square if you shoot closer to center than the opponent did. It wouldn't be able to be used if doing the handicap varient though.

That could work too. I generally discourage it, as this can lead to unnecessarily breaking arrows.

In every of your video i can learn something new. Can you make a video explaining how you balance your arrows, foc etc? will be very interesting for a lot of archers, newbi and expert. thanks for the time you spend making videos for us.

I used to play boules/bowls/pétanque (whatever you call it), one player shoot the jack, and every player (you can have teams) have to shoot as close to the jack as possible. Not the most funny game in the world, but that's fine.
