Bitzenburger jigs also have an adjustment for the amount of fletching you want to use. This jig looks like a copy of the Bitzenburger. I like that the Bitzenburger has metal clamps so if you use glue and it gets on the clamp it’s easy to remove with a razor blade.

I have only ever used glue when fletching arrows. Would you recommend wrapping the fletching when using tape, maybe just on the tips? It seems that tape would eventually tear off in flight. Has this ever been an issue for you?

Hey Shane W, When I use tape I tend to I always top and tail them with a dab of fletch tight. The thing is with tape it either works amazingly or it doesn't, a lot of has to do with the prep work. Making sure that shaft is totally grease free. I've never had one come off in flight though... But recently I've moved back to fletchtite. Hope that helps buddy, take care.

A flu flu arrow has more veins to it. Plus they are a lot taller they’re uncut they’re made for small game hunting for instance, any type of bird hunting or like squirrels and rabbits what it does is it doesn’t allow the arrow to fly as far.

How necessary is it to have spiraling ( I suppose thats the right word) feathers? Does the flight change drastically if the feathers were to be glued on straight?
@QuentinSingvogel

The arrow gets stabilized much quicker if the fletching has some spiraling to it. Why? Because the arrow will start to spin right after leaving your bow, stabilizing the arrow in flight. Straight fletching does also work just fine, but the arrow may "wobble" a bit in flight before it stabilizes. BUT spinning arrows will also lose speed (or energy i should say) much quicker. So they're nice to shoot targets not too far away and perfect to shoot targets up close, but for long range shots you probably want to go for straight fletching. Hope I could help you a little ;)

this is both cheating and a waste of money.. i see no reason to buy it unless you are making arrows on an industrial scale in order to supply several medieval castles!
