Thanks for this video. Question is what is the proper way?

I know this is kind of mean, but there is so few people out there on the Internet talking a bout the alignment in the same way as ArcheryWinchester does that I am just not sure if it is correct. Any information from another person please?

I saw him speak at a biomechanics conference on this topic. He has a strong biomec background in the space program and l think he was also a national coach for some Latin country for a few years, so he definitely knows his stuff. When he presented the paper on this topic at the conference, he had so much math it made my head spin. In this video he seems to have taken out the math and science, I guess to make it easier to understand. But I think It loses a something without the scientific jargon.

The title should be "studying the effect of alignment errors", you're confusing "effect" and "affect". Effect means a consequence of something, affect means that the action will have consequences on something. Mnemonic: it will "a"ffect "a" thing. So misalignment errors will have an effect. And misalignment errors will affect your shooting.

your argument with regards to compound is flawed..... all the information provided is to ensure a smooth consistent release/String from fingers. on compound the alignment is irrelevant. what's important is proper bow tune and most importantly a bow that holds steady on the gold, achieved primarily from correct stabilisation. as long as the release activates at the correct moment then alignment wrist snap high elbow is irrelevant.

I agree with you that these other things are very important. However, the archer must be doing a repeatable action or else he will affect the shot. The more simple the archer's motion, the more repeatable his action is. True, many archers do very complex actions consistently. Even trick shooters can learn to do a very unusual action consistently. The question is, what can the archer do to make his action as consistent as possible at the point of release. All these actions I point out in this video represent stresses on the body that will make the shot, at the point of release, hard to reproduce exactly.

Do you coach compound?

I coach compound and recurve. More recurve. About 2 recurve/1 compound
