This video gives you an in depth insight to the bow cams stop and how the rear "wall pressure" on your cam affects your accuracy. This is a "Preload Protocol" and when you master the "preload" then your timing and accuracy with a tension release seriously shoots through the roof!

I totally agree with sticking to same bow / cam, I switched manufacturers, and shot the new bow the same as the old one, the difference was string stop vs limb stop. This explains why I had such issues. Thanks Dudley...

Great lesson. I’ve been shooting 3 different bows and learning the “feel “ of the different draw cycles. The bear Cruzer 2 has a long noisy draw with nothing but sponge when it cams over, diamond edge 320 has a really fast hump and then drops making it easy to draw and has a solid back when you get there. Those were the 2 I worked with last year and showed me a valuable difference in draw cycles. I bought a pse fortis 30 that is a dream to shoot but the long draw cycle, while extremely smooth, makes it seem harder to draw but it’s really just a longer power stroke so it works muscles different. Great back wall with just a smooth drop. You have to shoot a few different kinds to really feel that and know what you want. I still shoot all 3 bows set to different poundage’s working my way up in draw weight. I’m 64 and only have been shooting for a year so I set one a little low and start with it to warm up then shoot the heaviest draw finally to my primary bow and it makes that draw cycle not seem as long. As I get into late July and August I’ll focus on my hunting setup and hope I’ve reached my draw weight goal of at least 55 pounds and with any luck maybe 60 but muscle builds slow at my age.

You should show us the change in impact at say 75yds with those small changes in back pressure and pull thru.

Never thought about the collapse of the front shoulder. Do you have more videos expanding on proper front shoulder dynamics? Thank you for these lessons

Probably the most important aspect of making great shots- the small detail of a super refined repetitive breaks. My nemesis for sure.

I found i could alter my arrow speed by about 5 fps by having lots of back wall pressure vs very little.

Thanks Dudley for your videos. I have a hinge and have great difficulty in pulling hard to make it pop and stay steady with the aim. The less pressure I put on my back shoulder the more stable my aim is, however the less consistent my shot is. Do you have any advice for me?

I’m having trouble with front shoulder pain when I shoot my bow. Do you have any tips on what causes this or exercises to do to help it?
@IronOathFitness
@IronOathFitness 3 ай бұрын
Since its front shoulder it’s probably too high in your draw cycle and impinging on your rotator cuff muscle and also your draw length might be too short and it’s scrunching you up. As far as exercises I would do anything to strengthen rotator cuff. I actually have a shoulder pain video on my channel that has 3 movements I always use for shoulder pain 👍🏼

Thanks you. I’ll check out your channel. One of the things I do go through in my head when I’m shooting is making sure my front shoulder is down

How would this apply to a different release? I don't like the Silverback. I'm using The Hinge 2 by Ultraview and the Carter Wise Choice. I tried the tension release and just prefer a hinge.

Awesome video but i feel like it should have demonstrated with a thumb button instead if a tension becuase a tension is always going off at the same pressure a thumb button is subjective to how much pressure you have when you reach for the trigger
