He changed in so many ways to be a good single parent tp her and what I loved about Steffie was she was never ashamed of him. She always asked him to do the special things with her and she always showed him off and even if he really did not want to do something she asked he always gave in just to make her happy. I think he may have been closer to her than he was Gloria

This was the last of a three episode arc that marked a significant change of direction in ABP, it pretty much wrapped up the Stephanie character. Since Billie was older, they could do a broader range of stories with her. Denise Miller got a progressively larger role and lovely Stephanie's part on the show from this point was drastically reduced. They didn't know what to do with Miss Mills at the awkward age of 13 where she wasn't old enough to hang out at the bar but too old to spend a lot of time with a father type figure like Uncle Archie. They occasionally worked Danielle Brisebois into an episode just to remind viewers she was still on the show, but Stephie was no longer a significant part of the storyline.

The storyline with Billie and Gary was good. It would have been interesting to see where the Billie character went next. Unfortunately the show was cancelled. Too bad that the emergence of Denise came at the expense of Danielle.

Desperately trying to jump start a stalled career she was emancipated at 15 hoping it would increase the number of roles she would be considered for. But she was more interested in boys than balance sheets and got buried in bad business deals. By the time she turned 21 she only had $10k of her childhood fortune left.
