MatPat of Game Theory brings up the stories a lot of recording the audio for his videos in a closet filled with clothes because it blocks out so much of the sound that would otherwise be bouncing around the room, which a normal recording room would have an expensive amount of sound panels all over the walls for.

@@xaby996 Start with an *old* Macbook, it's cheaper. I just switched to Windows this past year after close to two decades of strictly Mac production but *word to the beginner* buy an older refurb Mac. I'd stay away from the M1 Mac as it's going to be that much more expensive and I honestly don't know that many people who are using the M1 processor over Intel rn.. for a number of reasons.

Thanks for the testing. I personally had my heart set out on the Blue Ember Microphone, but felt it was only giving me the type of high vocals only and no lows heard at all. However, I'm much more sold on the AKG P120 Microphone. I love the warmth, and how it gives me a wider feel, and great vocals of highs and lows.

@iamcookbook4 жыл бұрын
Everyone seems to like the Blue Ember. The Blue definitely seems brighter, which I think some people experience as "clarity" but it feels like you lose a little low end because it's a small diaphragm mic. You can't really add that low end back in with EQ but with the AKG you always have the option of taking it out if you want that channel brighter. And if a person has a higher pitched voice the Blue might not work with them at all. I'd probably run the Blue through a warm vintage style pre and compressor to help thicken the mids a little if I was going to use that.

Yeah, the low end sounded a bit muddier on the Blue. I'm going to be recording tenor sax along with vocals...so it's a bit worrying. But on the flip side it's small enough to record at the bell. Decisions, decisions.

This helped me soooooooooo much, I'm about to buy the AT2020. Been searching online for ages but no one was as clear as you. I was having a hard time deciding between Rode NT1A, Blue Ember and AT2020. I think you sold the AT2020 to me! It really seems perfect! Thank you! Now I only have to get my mind straight on which interface to use. From your recommendations, I think i'll go with the presonus audiobox 96. Thank you so much, once more, and good luck with the baby and videos incoming.

Awesome. I'm glad I could help out and I'm glad you find the information I provide value. Yes, the AT2020 is a great choice. Also, the Presonus Audiobox 96 never disappoints, lol. You are welcome and thank you much for taking the time to comment Francisca!

I really love his videos and advices, but I’m not sure whether these recommended microphones are gonna fit with female vocalists.

I want you to test the microphones with female vocalists for your female audiences as well. We would love to watch it from you because how you explain it is very efficient and effective. ❤️

I can guarantee each on of the mics sound great with a female vocalist. My next series I will see if I can get one of my female vocalist artist friends to come by and test it. Thank you so much for taking the time to comment and give your thoughts. I really appreciate it.
