The best version of her was always the original The industry is cruel and for it a woman's biggest sin is getting old... Unfortunately The film becomes even more moving when you see that Demi Moore is actually going through this. Even though she is very beautiful, she doesn't get as many roles as she used to. It makes sense that she is the protagonist of this film. By the way, I loved your edit, it was really cool.

Great video, man! I love this movie. Of course, I can't relate to what women go through, but as a 36 year old guy, the mirror scene is definitely relatable. Earlier this year, I was going to meet up with some friends who I hadn't seen in a long time. I realized I gained weight, and I was losing a lot of hair. The night I was going to meet them, I tried on different outfits to make myself look slimmer. I combed my hair back, but I was developing a receding hairline. So, everything I was doing with my hair and my clothes weren't working. I was frustrated to the point where I was close to canceling and telling my friends that I was sick and couldn't make it. But I went anyway cause they were expecting me to come. I've already seen the film for the fourth time in the movie theater, and I still love it. Now, it's my favorite movie of 2024, and Demi Moore gives the best performance of the year. I encourage everyone to see it at the movie theater. Don't wait to watch it at home cause you won't get the same experience when you're watching it on TV.

the sad thing about Elizabeth is that she willingly accepts to submit to male approval and feminine performance. If only she learned to have female freiendships and conections, she wouldn't be so damn depressed. We can only see her interacting with only men, and that's intentional. She sees herslef through the male gaze, male approval and validation. Pretty priviledge exists, but everything that comes from men, is conditional. Nothing is ever given for free. For men, your beauty is only a thing to consume, a product. And as Elizabeth "expired", she felt desperate, since the only thing that gave her meaning of her lifestyle, was the industry that men builded.

The substance i think means both the issue with substance abuse, related with addiction and how her substance is fame (not beauty or youth, since she was very happy at the beggining as long as she had her show), and the substance of the being, she lacks an inner world cause all she has is her fame, not family, friends or hobbies.

They kept saying that "you are one" and I get it, they both valued the same... but they were not one, they were two different people, three if you count the monster
@pigeon000022 ай бұрын
No, they are literally the same person. Sue is literally just a younger version of the older lady, made from the same DNA. That's why the balance was so important. The way her younger self treated her older self was really just a reflection of how she subconsciously hated herself for getting older. She even says so verbatim in the movie.

@04287332 ай бұрын
@clopez507 But, see, elisabeth was surprised at what Sue said on the interview. And, despite "being the same," Sue was surprised to see the apartment all messed up. I get it that the movie was supposed to be "Artsy" and "subversive" and shit and the two of them "being one" was very on-the-face and it was supposed to mark the relationship of oneself with one's older version or the past or whatever. Truth is, they were two different people, sharing dna and values, but apparently not consciousness. It seemed to me Sue was more of a younger twin or a clone (neither of those count as "being the same")
