Modern architecture is an acquired taste.

"we don't want the architecture to be the overwhelming part of what's happening"... I'm not sure they nailed that here.
@matewuocean2 жыл бұрын
I would disagree because when all the walls are bland and monochromatic it pulls the focus to the interior.
@therealneal65672 жыл бұрын
@@matewuocean I see your point, I guess the owners/interior designers have much work to do to make this feel like a home rather than an architectural expression.

It has the playfulness of a labyrinth with a surprise around every corner, but not claustrophobic. The home breathes, and somehow manages to have views even in the heart of the space. Love it! ☺️

This renovation seems to be quite innovative to me. So often renovations rise above neighboring homes but this one sits lower then neighboring houses and utilizes natural light through skylights and courtyards which surround the home and brighten the home. It's lovely and serene. The lines throughout the home are beautiful and the materials used are very nice. This is really quite lovely.

Excellent. One of the very few Architects who got it right. In Europe they are looking for the sun, whereas down under we try to protect from the harsh sunlight. Well done. 👊👌👍

Man, this obsession with concrete in australia is something..
@thore69312 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same thing! I’m an architecture student in Germany and basically every professor tells us that concrete is basically the devil because of its environmental impact! I can see why it’s nice to have a concrete home in Australia, it will create a fairly nice and cool interior climate. But they don’t even mention that concrete is bad…
