What understated beauty 😍 _This_ is design. Sure, a massive, ostentatious mansion can be impressive. But, to have this level of detail mixed with restrained, simple beauty then thrown in with clever use of space - that's impressive design to me.

The problem with this channel is that it shows very beautiful projects but the quality of editing is meh and the timeline is very CONFUSING! You don't even know which part of the house you're looking at. And please... don't even label it as a "house tour". You can only see "parts" of the house the architects mention.

I think there is a 300 level architecture course on keeping a straight face while appropriating grammatical metaphor.
@johnblaine14792 жыл бұрын
Yes it’s time most architects kept to what they know best- architecture. Many are really embarrassing when they try to speak in poetry without knowing enough grammar to be convincing, using absurd invented terms that just confuse once the laughter stops, and personification where inanimate objects like floors are given human characteristics and have a “dialogue” with the ceiling.

When interested in these videos, by the thumbnail, I've started to think, "Oh. But it's by The Local Project," so I'll lower my expectations, because it's always a shot of this, a shot of that, a shot from above, a shot of a plant, etc. There's no story being told, with the camera. There's no flow, to allow us a sense of what it's like to live in that house. It's more like a magazine spread, and it always leaves me disappointed that I didn't get to tour the house. THIS house was so interesting and lovely, but I have no idea about the visual sense of moving from one end of the house to the other, and of how the bedrooms connect to everything else. The greater disappointment is that I want to like Australian channels more than ones made overseas.

Great! You can compose a series pretty shots and play some airy-fairy words and spa music over the top of them. But, beyond the self-indulgent ‘aren’t I so profound’ production standards, no one has any real idea what the house is like. Please, in the future, put the horse before the cart and prioritise what you’re trying to communicate before you begin self-fellating.

This merely house porn. There is no discussion on how this home performs with the environment ... heating/cooling/water storage etc. Architect is way too self impressed and clients were driven by "cool"? Like a 16 year old who is very pretty but doesn't have much depth. I'd prefer to see homes for adults that include environmentally conscious issues like the extreme heat and cold of (Melbourne?) Australia.

@cerb00z2 жыл бұрын
It's low slope butterfly style standing seam roof, which means that drain is located in the middle of roof. And yeah, usually those types of roofs are suited for areas with less rainfall, but if it's retailed correctly it absolutely could work in medium wetness as well.
