So many of us living in Canadian cities are priced out of houses, so finding solutions and creative design ideas to squeeze ourselves into tiny condos is really welcomed. Thanks!

We started in 800 sq ft near Commercial Drive. We renovated both bathrooms, the kitchen, and expanded the sidewalk-entrance patio. The next couple (5 years later) sold it for almost double what they paid for it. We however, have never regretted moving to the island when we did! Cost has gone up everywhere. A family can no longer live off of one salary out here.

Sleeping on two separate twin mattresses pushed together is so underrated!!!!!! You get lots of space because its the same width as a king sized bed, and when you roll around, your partner doesn't feel the movement! Twin beds are shorter than kings, so if you're tall it might not work. My bf and I aren't, so it works for us bc it saves us space in our small bedroom :) And like you said, its soo much easier to move when the time comes. No need to rent a U haul and so easy if you're moving up some stairs or around odd corners!

Twin XL mattresses are the same length as a king bed, and two of them will fit on a king bed frame together. That’s what my spouse and I use so we can pick our own mattress firmness and replace them separately as needed over the years.

Just wanna say I really appreciate your content. People have started to believe that they need a 3-storey, 2500 sq. ft. house in order to have enough space, and with high inflation, I think it's important for people to get more out of less and make the most out of their homes. Your videos always show new creative ways to make use of a small space, and I appreciate how practical and affordable your suggestions are. You deserve to be much more popular!

I love how this apartment has everything without having too many things that make the place feel cluttered. Some great solutions as well for the different challenges that come with a small space. ❤ I bring my desk close to my bed as well for movies and tv shows 😂 So its good to see someones else doing this too, although you do it in a much cleaner way😂

Thank you for that, Daniel. Your videos consistently inspire me as I navigate my new surroundings - from a 3 bedroomed family home, I moved into a 1 bedroomed bungalow. I have been decluttering for more than a year as I unpack, and the solutions you come up with in your videos show me what can be done with limited space. It's a comfort to know that you'll have found a solution to most of the issues that irritate me about it, so I am a very happy subscriber!

I’d love to see a tour of all the intentionally selected infant/toddler items and item upgrades. I spied a couple in this one - the stroller, clip on high chair, rolling crib, etc. I’m curious about compact, multifunctional, and moveable baby/kid gear in small apartments and intentionally designing around that!

The little hacks, such as having a magnet to hold open the door is the secrets to having a VERY functional life in an apartment.
@JAe-jc1uk11 ай бұрын
Everything is full of thought. You’ve minimized the less attractive functions of your space and found a way to multi-purpose your baby’s room in a way that leaves a child their own space most of the time. I think a tri-fold would work great when they’re a toddler and older. I use one (Milliard) for car camping and it’s comfortable for a 62-year old side sleeper with hip pain. Highly recommend. For decorating when they’re older, a ceiling-hung tent could fill the space with color, be a great plaything, and easy to fold away in the closet when you’re in dining room mode.

I really enjoyed how realistic your tour was! We are also renters who don’t want to invest in a Murphy bed on a space that is not our forever home. I advise you see the frame tv in person at the Samsung store. In comparison for the price and the frame is not included we decided to get a regular Samsung. The blacks just aren’t rich enough on the frame and you don’t really fool anyone long term. You are incredibly handy, Daniel so I feel you’re better off making your own frame for any tv you want. Unless you really like the stand option.

Daniel, very true to you and your daily experience. I look forward to seeing how you address the absence or art and embellishment…. As an art collector who started young with modest means, may I suggest the following strategy: only put original works on your walls. May they be daycare productions or museum grade, as long as they are non reproductions or mass produced.

I'm in a bungalow with about 6oo sq ft, but the garden is the same again & I planted Leylandii among other vegetation. The trees, now abt 30 ft high, do 'extend' the property (vertically!) & my general environment quite a bit, attract birds, provide selective privacy, cover from wind, a mild micro-environment, & there's a wee kitchen garden & shed squeezed in. Must say I do prefer being a groundling - though there's not the far-view that city towers have! (Although being in the Scottish Highlands there are distant hills etc.) £75 pw.

I always wonder about solutions for laundry. Where I live I need to handle laundry inside the apartment, which means at least the washer, but then I need either space for a dryer or a dry rack. Where do you fit drying laundry?
@anaalves3658 Жыл бұрын
I know that some people put the drying rack in the bathtub or if it's a large shower in there. You can get retractable clothes lines that might work as well, again I would probably put it in the bathroom.

Hi Daniel, How many years do you plan to live in this size of apartment? My wife and I just remodelled a 54 sqm apartment here in Copenhagen. From a two bedroom to a three bedroom, and adding a folding wall to be able to include master bedroom in the living space. So about 30 sqm living room when it's open. I've gotten a lot of inspiration from your videos - so thanks a lot 👌 We hope to be able to live here for about 10 years with our daughter, but let's see how it works out :) Curious to hear your thoughts on when you feel the space will be too small for your little family :) High five MC
