Thank you for such a thorough video. I am an architecture student and find it hard to only work on my Mac. Most of my class/department uses a pc, but I just purchased the Mac last year and want to stick with it. I'd like to create a clean easy workflow space and purchase a new monitor to help me through school. I love the set up and hope to purchase a few things off of it that I can afford. Could you share your process for mounting the laptop holder and the calbit holder underneath your desk? What size screws you used and how you measured it to place them where you did. I really like your setup and am in the process of doing something similar!

The screws came with the 3D printed laptop mount. . It was pretty straightforward. I just measure the distance between the two side brackets in relation to my laptop, marked it under the desk, drilled a pilot hole, screwed it in, installed the rear bracket.

Don't you get a lot of overheat underneat the desk? When I look at this it feels that all the heat from the laptop would be blowing onto my legs and I can see that being a bit of an issue especially during the hot summer days

I switched to this orientation mainly for filming. It give me for more flexibility. The 2022 desk orientation is my favorite. 😊 It just depends what you are going for.

data centre tech's tip. don't use zip ties. if you ever have to undo something, they can be a pain or even damage cables. use velcro strips instead.

So many dust collection shelves 🥰 If you are talking about optimization here, then never (never) advise open shelving units. Closed shelves will reduce amount of visual noise and save your cleaning time.

What’s with the ginormous audio speakers? It seems totally out of proportion with the rest of your setup, and for your work/use case, heavy audio seems useless. Your speakers take up more desk space than your monitor and keyboard.

@@JonImperial maybe a little exaggeration on my part, but the desk space and air space the speakers take up seem disproportionate. I’m thinking something like a small sound bar like those used in flat panels would fit better. Those only take up about 1/10th the space. I just purchased a 70x30 stand/sit desk and have been setting it up so am searching for nice set of small speakers that don’t make my setup look like a 13 year old’s gaming desk. Seems like all computer speakers that content creators show on their recommendations videos are larger sized like yours.
