Get her the Dyson! She's gonna love it and you forever haha Honestly, I love my Dyson even though spending 400+€ on a hairdryer seemed ridiculous. But funnily the thing that I love most about it, is that it's not as heavy and fits so easily in my bag when I travel.

Just a heads up, there's zero strong evidence to suggest blue light blocking does anything for eye strain or sleep. Lots of small sample size tests done by glasses companies but several more academic studies suggest it has little to no effect other than slightly altering colour.

Not to mention your body needs those wavelengths of light during the day to keep your body’s clocks synchronized. The minor benefit of blue light blocking really only helps during the evening.

Blue light past sundown really messes with melatonin production. It really makes a difference - at least for me.

@@DanielTitchener I appreciate your experience and honestly for how inexpensive "blue-light blocking" glasses can be, even if they just provide a placebo effect I'm glad to hear they help you. Likely the small amount of dimming they provide is the more effective component anyway. A relatively easy to read journal publish on NIH (PMC4763136) shows that even at max brightness, LED screens produce so little blue light that it's highly unlikely to effect our brains in the way natural daylight, or even light reflected off the moon does. Although the study doesn't directly address the effect on sleep, the absolute insignificant amount of blue light produced in comparison to other factors suggests that singling out blue light is not a major culprit in disruptions in circadian rhythm or sleep quality. Some more focused but still relatively early research has suggested that the amber hue and general muddling of colours is actually the more effective component when treating bipolarism and delayed sleep/insomnia. Most commercial "blue light blocking" glasses may not use as deep of an amber tinting as is suggested in medical studies. PMID: 29044670 and PMID: 34030534 have similar findings but suggest larger sampling.

I bought myself a LARQ PureVis over the cyber weekend, and I can confirm that I haven't used a single plastic water bottle ever since. I cannot argue that water 'tastes better,' but it certainly doesn't smell!

Daniel, you *ARE* a terrible husband! My Dyson hairdryer is worth every penny I spent on it, and my income is tiny. Every time I blow dry my hair, I love the result and how it makes me feel to know that my hair has been dried beautifully, quickly (so quickly!) and safely with minimal damage is beyond the price. I grant you, it's an awful price, but this is the mother of your child and she deserves the best that money can buy. I will cut corners on all sorts of things (indeed I have to, I don't work full-time and I had to use savings to buy the Dyson hairdryer), but I'm so glad I bought myself the best in this respect. (Dear Mrs Daniel, You're welcome!) Another great video, Daniel. Keep up the good work! 😀

just a note about the bose over-ear headphones (ultras mentioned in the video). I recently bought & returned the QC45s because of how uncomfortable they were for me. :( the combination of the deeper ear-cup design, plus the level of air pressure/seal they made on my ear, created a very unpleasant transition between wearing & not wearing the headphones, even if ANC was off. I specifically found that the earpad would constantly seal/unseal on one ear, and so that ear started to get irritated. :( It was a shame b/c they were at a great price, the sound profile & noise cancelling were great. Bose’s return policy is the best out there (90days full refunds), so I would highly suggest testing out the fit of the headphones for daily comfort before you fully commit. I now have the Sony XM5s and they are much more comfortable for my head/ear shape. No air pressure issues, and higher quality ANC & sound pass through. Both are great headphones, but based on my preferences, the Sony’s are worth the money (especially when on sale!) I can’t speak to the AirPod Max headphones since I haven’t tried them. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I enjoyed the video. I did find there was some weird editing choices that came across as strange when watching on my AppleTV. Firstly the number of the item clicking in was a bit odd and a little harsh. The text on the screenshots was also a bit small to read. I also wonder whether having a larger box naming the item might be better for legibility.

I bought two Rotring (one silver and one black) mechanical pencils. I thought I was upgrading since by that point I was a growing mechanical pencil user. They both broke twice. Once within the warranty period and once each outside of the warranty period. At that point they went into the junk drawer. I then went back to my Pentel Graphgear 1000 pencils. I have at least 6 of them (multiple in different led sizes so that I can keep some at home and some in my bag in my pencil case, etc.). I have never had an ounce of trouble with them. Bottom line, I will NEVER purchase another expensive-ass Rotring pencil.

Don't buy Bellroy backpacks! I have the Classic backpack V2 and the strap adjuster piece, while quality, seriously fails at doing its job and the straps regularly change length on their own. Bellroy will give out free strap clips to people who are annoyed by it but even these don't completely solve the problem. My North face backpack is half the price and the strap length has been the same as the day I set it for years! If this doesn't bother you (it will), the rest of the bag is amazing. Their slings are amazing too, especially the Venture 2.5L which I've had since it came out.
