(Please make a pinned comment along thse lines!) If you recommend something to digitise your paperwork, that's probably a great tip for minimalist homes. BUT at the same time you HAVE to stress the importance of proper data backup! I'd guess your audience is more focused on the Design aspect of your channel and might not know how to properly protect digital data, so here's the TLDR: Always keep 3 copies of your data (digital protection in case windows messes up or you accidentally delete something) on at least 2 different mediums (e.g. your PC and an external hard drive to protect against physical failure like a dying Laptop or drive) and keep one copy off-site (e.g. Google drive or similar or a pasword protected external drive at a friend's home, in case your apartment befalls a major catastrophe.) In short, follow the 3-2-1 rule!

It's not that serious. Unless you are running an business, keeping things in one local and one cloud solution will do. Cloud services are already reinforced against data loss, and if it for some crazy reason either fails, you have the other one. Easiest way to solve this is by just having local folder synced to cloud. Personally I have NAS, since I store a lot of data and documents I really want to protect are further copied into cloud. But I would be pretty happy with just cloud if not for my other needs. As long as you are using decent cloud service that has versioning and you can recover data, your data is really safe.

I agree with the other commenters, Bose do sell the replacement pads, they might seem a bit costly, but in my mind, it’s cheaper than forking out for new headphones. I have tried the Amazon replacements (non branded) and they were not as good - they needed to be as a I was wearing them for hours at a time, so I got Bose originals. I’m also in London and the dehumidifier was one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. You don’t have to have a damp (in the literal sense) flat to use one. The heating is not on as much anymore and they are not expensive to run. The biggest benefit was last summer with our heatwave. Having it suck out all the moisture in the air was a game changer. Clothes dry in next to no time and the difference to my skin and complexion was very noticeable too.

When scanning your documents you should really have a good backup solution. For documents a cloud solution might be alright, depending on how private they are. Don't depend too much on one hard drive or ssd.
@333dae

since the files are probably not that big a couple clones on 16-32gb flash drives should be more than enough (depends on how often you wanna backup), even the free tiers of online cloud services (google drive gives 15gb free) should be able to store a digitized cabinet of documents, for extra security you can make a new account not connected to anything just for the backup

I have long been a fan of Wacao, having purchased the original minipresso and then upgraded to the nanopresso. it's just such easy, portable mechanics for making espresso without constantly needing to buy and replace the paper filters. i'm still amazed by the air pressure it manages to produce to extract so much flavour our of barely any grounds. i have primarily done it using hot water, but have on occasions followed their instructions and made with cold/iced water as well for a speedy cold brew. it's simply a versatile, compact little machine

Apart from the steep price, the problem I see with the this (or any other) Compact ADF scanner is that you need to keep (and sometimes use) the originals of many documents anyway. It's not like you can just scan your work or rental contract and then just throw away the original as they wouldn't be helpful in a legal situation. Same goes for most governmental paperwork and so on. You can only do that for less important stuff which can you can also just take photos of with your phone and then just throw away. 600 bucks saved. This scanner doesn't really solve the problem it sets out to solve.

In terms of pure convenience, I think a superautomatic espresso machine is simply unbeatable. You turn it on (or have it turn on on a timer), put a cup under the "portafilter", push a button and you'll have an espresso/Americano/etc. in about a minute. They do have some drawbacks (i.e. they may make slightly worse coffee than an equivalently priced setup). But to me, they're what pods-based machines want to be, but better-tasting, easier, and cheaper on the long run (or medium, if you drink a lot of coffee. Nespresso pods are *so expensive*). If, like me, you drink a lot of coffee but aren't a coffee snob, consider one!

Nespresso Virtuo is by far the easiest, smallest, and best performing for the price at $130. I’ve never been a pod coffee person but the coffee out of an Nespresso is amazing and it takes 5 seconds of effort. For me, the quality outweighs the price for pods (~2$ a pod) and it’s much cheaper compared to $5-8 for a good cup of coffee at a shop.

You can get new earpads for the Bose for relatively cheap compared to a new set of headphones.

I will fight you about coffee! The best, easiest and space saving solution is a stove top traditional italian espresso maker. It takes less than 5 minutes and you use the stove top space to make it so it doesn't need extra counter space. I also leave it on the stove top permanently even while not using, instead of on a kitchen cabinet.

You don’t need a scanner. You can have a phone app that does just as well. The rest i agree with.

What you need is the mind to not buy unnecessary things. That simple thing should do the magic..These gadgets are going to pile up in few months if we don't change our behaviour.

I don’t undestand the need for a scanner. There are apps on the phone that do that. TurboScan is an example.

A scanner like this is useless. Firstly because of course you can scan all your paperwork but then what? Are you gonna throw away the originals?? And ok, you digitize everything. Don't you also have to print a file these eventually? You also need a printer!! An all in one machine is the best choice for this!!!

Making smoothies of fruits and vegetables is never a good idea, as it will change it's chemical compositions and eliminate essential fibres. Having it in their natural form should be the only way of consuming it. Smoothies don't help you loose weight, but instead work counter to it.
