That tone is so fuckin' amazing! I have an ibanez 6 string and it never sounds that good. You've got to do some bass for me, or at least reaamp some of my stuff. That's amazing!

***** It took me a while to get a good tone, but even then I'm still not completely satisfied with it. I appreciate the feedback though!

@@TheCeeze so how did u get this tone?
@cesarmarenco35675 жыл бұрын
@@xx2 I think a lot of the tone from this period was from the stock Sans-Amp plug-in that comes stock with Avid Pro Tools. Then just some light EQ and compression to top it off if I remember correctly. It's been forever.

Dude, you're a God! Can you please share the tabs?
@TheCeeze10 жыл бұрын
If you check out Andrey Teterlev's channel and go to his guitar cover for Broken Cross, he has tabs that I used to figure out the song. Guitar tabs are pretty much the same as bass. I just did a little improvising here and there. He has yet to give me permission to share the link that he has on his video.

Hi mate! I am really impressed by your skills, I wish I played the bass like you.... Just a question if you are kind to answer: is there a trick to memorize all this rhythms patterns? because they are so many and they are changing so quick... or is just a thing of literally memorize them one after another? thanks and keep up the amazing work!
@TheCeeze8 жыл бұрын
That's a really great question. I think after doing this for a while now I've been able to pick up on patterns easier. There's can only be so many combinations. For any song, I take them little by little. Work on the easier parts first and then work around it. It's really a matter of repetition and grinding away so you memorize them. It's crucial to pick on patterns that repeat so that you don't stress out as much. I remember when I was doing Survival by TesseracT I finally deciphered that the bass player was playing like 3 different patterns in different orders, so I memorized the pattern, then I memorized the order and in my head I just went through the tune. (Pattern A - A - B - A - C [repeat] for example). It certainly takes a little getting used to, but it's definitely doable. I still struggle with it a bit, especially from bands like Northlane or Issues. So I guess to answer your question, there's not really a trick. It's just a matter of listening to the tune and internalizing it. I'll usually tap along to rhythms and try to figure them out with my hands on a table or somewhere. I don't necessarily need my bass for that. Hope that answers your question.

TheCeeze mate, i really appreciate your answer and it's more than enough. somehow you gave me hope. :) I remember that at times I do even myself that thing with knocking on table trying to figure out the pattern trying to understand the bass drum kicks. This is very important, isn't it? for the bass being hand in hand with the bass drum? thank so much for your time :)

@nunolance239 жыл бұрын
How do you manage to have it tuned to G# and it doesn't look that loose?
@TheCeeze9 жыл бұрын
nunolance23 Just a matter of using thicker gauges.
@nunolance239 жыл бұрын
So do you need to set something up or you just change the strings yourself and that's it? Sorry, I'm kind of a newbie in this "drop-tuning" thing.
@TheCeeze9 жыл бұрын
nunolance23 Make sure the nut on the bass will be able to handle the thickness of the gauges. That information is usually posted on the manufacturers website. After you put on strings it's just a matter of fixing the intonation, action, and truss rod.
