Nope they have different concepts. Turn off the lights in your room, it's dark. Turn it on, it's bright. It's not darkness itself, it's dependent on the light. Which defines the term 'shadow'. So really darkness is shadow; the absence of light. There is no original source of darkness, only light like the sun in the dark space.

Powerful message indeed. As a Christian, I feel very sorry for the condescending demeanor of many Christians (including those in the Westboro Baptist cult). I have not been a Christian for a very long time, so I understand the kind of contempt that some "so called Christians" have for us "sinners." But I came to realize that Jesus came to those who knew that they were "perfect mistakes" and "almighty f**k ups," not the overly pious religious types that thought they had it all together (Mark 2:17). I like that this song acknowledges the imperfect nature of humanity. I really dig that. Just never forget, just because many judgmental "Christians" look down on you and don't love you, doesn't mean that God doesn't. Peace and love folks!
@_NotEnoughMana10 жыл бұрын
This! You couldn't have succinctly summarised Christianity than this. God is love and he loves you no matter what. It's only over judgemental people pretending to believe in something that is not true that gives us a bad name. Respect bro! Peace to you too!
@Popabuddy110 жыл бұрын
I don't really understand true christians too much. Why have such a strong belief in something that has never been shown to you first hand? All there is, is a book that people claim to have been created by god. I'm not saying a god doesn't exist, but why don't some people like you have a bit of doubt that some magical being doesn't exist? And if its because you want to be happy about the way you die, or for who you are. It still seems to trouble me that there isn't any doubt to it. Maybe being raised into a strong belief of it is what does it.

I've been a "Christian" for the majority of my life. I find songs like this to be riveting and beautiful in content. It's not offensive or blasphemous, it's real. It's honest and passionate towards the story of Christ just as any Chris Tomlin or For Today song is. Questioning God, his agenda, or his existence has been at the center of almost every Biblical figure from Noah to Job and so on. If you follow the Bible, and those who teach it, blindly you will end up either a closed minded bigot or missing the whole point. These lyrics are truths hard to swallow.

Its interesting that everyone in this comment section are fundamentally what this song is about. Maybe you aren't the ones causing wars or corruption in this world, but your constant arguing over shit so irrelevant and small in a universe where there are so many bigger things than what your fucking views on religion are, is the meaning behind "he doesn't fuck love us". IF god were to really exist, do you honestly think he would be proud of his creation of the human race? Look at yourselves. Fighting over shit that LITERALLY DOES NOT MATTER when you look at existence as a whole. Humans think they are the center of the universe when in reality, we are all a bunch of fucking parasites destroying ourselves and the home we live on. Great song as always, Architects.

Not saying I disagree with you, but there is more at stake here than just an idea. Religion is one of those things that has to go. There are too many minds in this world that stop searching for answers because they think the answer is god. Brilliant minds, potential doctors, physicists, chemists, etc. that never come to be because they are stymied by religion. We need these people because between the exponentially growing population and climate change, we're going to be fucked without them. Some things are worth fighting for. MrPorto Tiger the problem with people who think like you is the fact that you don't question anything.....you hear an 'idea', a concept that you like very much and just believe it because it fits your criteria. The fact is that you don't have any proof of anything....and neither scientist have absolute proof of their theorys.....and that's amazing to me....with all their years of study and experiments they still say they don't have a complete answer, and that every theory can be 'unprooven' with enough evidence (bassicaly most of them are agnostic, as am i)....religious people don't want to chalenge their minds, but believe in divinity so they can feel special and safe.... there are an infinite posibilities how we came to be.....the one with god and fallen angels is as probable as believing in a flying spaghetti monster.... just accept your existence like it is and don't wish for imaginary paradise that contradicts itself in so many ways. Saying you have god particles in yourself is such an egocentric statement....you put yourself above everything just because you don't understand why you exist....that's basic behaviour of non-critical thinking.

I'm a Christian and I think this song is incredibly powerful. I get chills everytime I listen to it. I think more people of faith should contemplate the nature of God. A personal relationship with God is important, but what is a relationship with someone you don't really know? It seems like a lot of people of faith treat prayer like they're talking *at* Him, and not like two way communication. Between the Old and New Testaments, the nature of God changed drastically. So much so that we saw the conception of a new Abrahamic faith in Christ. And really, would God be happy with the world as it is? Just because you love your children doesn't mean you can't be disappointed in them. I see a lot of Christians in the comments say they disagree with the message. But I think its important to consider it. At one point God sent the Great Flood to reset all of humanity. Wrath isn't impossible for him. I think treating the notion of God like he doesn't experience changes of emotion is underestimating how complex our creator truly is. And I don't think questioning God means you're being disloyal to Him. Let that inquiry be something that strengthens your relationship with Him.

Look at all these people attempting to look smart by arguing about religion and claiming what's right or wrong. You guys probably can't see the big picture here. It's the fact that you can't respect the perception and beliefs of other people that causes war. You don't need to insult each other. If you can all learn to do that, you can learn to live in peace.

Amazing song. Truest lyrics i've heard in a long time and i often wonder it myself. If their is a god (which the evidence is against), then why in the fuck would he love us? And furthermore why the fuck should we love him for making us like this?
@katyvaske98910 жыл бұрын
Think of "god" as the highest vibratory plane, i.e.. 10th dimension/dimension of light. People tend to want to view a higher power as some humanistic entity, floating around, making decisions. It is more comfortable that way, more relatable. Everything is vibrations/frequencies, and the highest frequency can manifest and distribute itself into any other level. We are ALL God, in this sense. We create our own distress, hardships, pain, suffering. We create, preserve and destroy, just as "He" does. We tend to doubt our limits due to influence from all around, we judge ourselves, and act, based on others. It is no one's fault but our own for all that is in our lives. We have complete control, but we feel as if we are feeble, little beings, dismissing our true potential, giving right for negative energy to prosper around, and in, us. We feel hopeless because of the way things are set up in our country/government. We are told what to do, when to do it, and the repercussions of not doing so. And "no one" made us like this. We ALL have the power to chose what we do, we just like to pretend we don't so we don't feel as bad doing certain things. Mind over matter. All of this would not exist without you perceptually creating it at every given moment; you create your own life, but view life without your false ego. Life does not owe us anything, we must demonstrate that WE are worthy for life. People got that flipped around long, long ago. Stop being negative and all that is left is happiness. Always remember, we are everything and everything is us. You cannot have one thing without everything. It all ties together. As above, so below.
@katyvaske98910 жыл бұрын
And you are thinking of "love" as a Hallmark card would portray it. Love is the undeniable compassion for all things, no matter size, shape, colour. Love is true absolution from ego. It is not "I love you," but "I love all." There is no segregation. If you look hard enough, their is beauty and potential in all.

Umad Brah and also, I answered and/or corrected every question you asked. Humans need to stop being so negative and hostile towards life. You're creating your own problems. My nigga, energy comes in waves/oscillations, so it's not about good or bad, pain or blissfulness, but balancing so one end of the spectrum does not absolve the other. Like a golden mean spiral, there can be definitive points put on anything, but once you do that, you start to structure life into a hectic mess of points and curves, a start and an end, instead of going with the natural source energy flow of everything and existing into infinity. Everything is created and dictated through beliefs and thought patterns, so why focus on negative things, and giving them power, when literally anything is possible if you seriously try?

Wow. The lyrics to this song are so powerful and packed with emotion. The visuals and instrumentation are very well put together. However I can only feel for the writer of these lyrics. I always pondered God's intentions and my belief has been challenged many times. I feel like everyone who believes in god has felt this way in one point of life. Like, why are we here? Why does he let these terrible things go on in this world? Why can't we fully understand his presence? I'm rambling though. Great song. Very profound lyrics.

Yeah exactly. When you realise that God doesn't give you the will to win the lottery or decide whether the masses are punished by a governing body. If He truly is the creator of all life and exsistance this probably includes other universes / planets with living entities. I think everyone has their own tests within their limits, but it makes people stronger. "The mind and spirit of man advance when he is tried by suffering. The more the ground is ploughed the better the seed will grow, the better the harvest will be. Just as the plough furrows the earth deeply, purifying it of weeds and thistles, so suffering and tribulation free man from the petty affairs of this worldly life until he arrives at a state of complete detachment. His attitude in this world will be that of divine happiness. Man is, so to speak, unripe: the heat of the fire of suffering will mature him. Look back to the times past and you will find that the greatest men have suffered most."

There is a concept that exists, though it is difficult for theists to entertain. The concept is this: we on this planet do not have to have a reason for being here. We could be and most likely are simply the result of a cosmic equation that produced life.

I'm not christian or follow any religion, but I do believe that god exist, maybe I don't know if he's good or not, or something, I just believe that we as humans we are not just a coincidence. But bands like Architects or Parkway Drive have those feelings that really gets you, you can't deny that their lyrics are sincere, and gives you a message no matter if you're in a religion or you are just atheist, they are trying to tell you with their songs that at least don't trust, give yourself the chance to doubt, like don't believe everything that people says is true just because is written in the bible.

Mmmchutney What I meant is that humans are so imperfect that there's gotta be something or someone else above us, like more powerful that could create all of this, or who knows maybe God is all universe, everything that exists, even us could be God or part of God, I don't know. The thing is that this is a tough topic to talk about. I'm probably too wrong but that's what I think.

Guys, the song isn't an anti-religious statement. It expresses what it's like to feel abandoned by God, your supposed creator, in your suffering ("a desperate picture of God's regret"), and calls against hatred initiated by religion ("hate must weigh on you like a broken cross"). I believe in God and think it's key to respect all religions, but I can relate to the song.

We are always looking outside of ourselves for answers. Whereas I think we need to deeply reflect on ourselves to truely find the answers we are all searching for. We can't keep blaming god and wondering why he would do such things to humans, and at the end of the day we make choices, and we have to learn about cause and effect. God doesn't kill. We do. Humans. We all have the choice to redeem our bad decisions too but unfortunately people think they can do whatever they want without accepting the consequences. We are all guilty of doing some wrong in our lives whether we like it or not, but with hard work we can pull through these dark times. I hope this sort of made sense, I'm tired and shiz

@mxcmoney36349 жыл бұрын
Adam Kilpatrick OK, time to shoot down your arguments as well. God doesn't kill? You believe in god, so you believe that he caused a great flood which KILLED most of the earth's population, so how can you possibly say that god doesn't kill? Yes, we do, and so does everything else in nature. Natural selection is survival of the strongest and evolution, and sometimes that calls for killing, which you see in most if not all predators. We can do whatever we want. I went into a large church (not a mega church, just a large one), and I started blasting Attila into the microphone and saying "praise the lord satan". I defiled the crosses on the way out. Nothing happened, as a matter of fact, I got a raise the next day. And no, I'm not a satanist, I don't believe in god so therefore I don't believe in satan. However, if I was a satanist, that wouldn't necessarily mean that I'm evil. There are some satanists who view satan as a free-thinking being who revolted against an oppressing ruler, which, if the bible was true, is a true statement. and Deathmilzer Jenkinz is right, god is against intelligence. It even says in the bible that sin came into the world because we ate the fruit off of a tree, which is literally referred to in the bible as the tree of knowledge.

This song proves nothing of the sort! Atheists are not against god(s), we don't hate god(s), we aren't ashamed, nor are we mad at god(s), any more than we are at leprechauns and fairies. We simply do not accept the ridiculous claim that any god(s) exist. We acknowledge the CONCEPT of god(s) as something that other people believe in and this song calls those people into question. +The One, your comment is equivalent to me saying "The one is a believer in Allah, he just denies Allah because he's ashamed or he hates him" see my point? You can't hate something that DOESN'T EXIST. Definitely missed the point of the song, "god only knows" is used in a FIGURATIVE sense, it's a figure of speech meaning 'no one knows'. You really should question your beliefs more because you look like a fool. I have a few words and sentences that you should look up: ATHEIST 'GOD ONLY KNOWS' PROOF CONCEPT
@mxcmoney36349 жыл бұрын
***** no, we genuinely don't believe him because we think for ourselves. You take the reason why you don't believe in other gods, and that's why we don't believe in yours. We acknowledge god because it is highly controversial, people ask us why or how we cannot believe in god, and most of us are former christians. And what James said is true. To not question what you christians believe would be foolish.
