Lyrics
Say what you like, I know what I am // Sometimes a flood starts with a leak in the dam // You said we'll never make a difference // Maybe this battle is to fight indifference // Naysayer, hammer the nail // We're all on our own, we can't decide what's true // Betrayer, hammer the nail // Such narrow lines separate me and you // So sick of the sound of people giving up // You can't stop me giving a fuck // Fuck it, I'm a dreamer and I'm dreaming on // With every concession another piece of us dies // Will we fight for nothing, if not our lives? // Apathy is our new messiah // Only he could let things get so dire // Apathy is our new messiah // The word made flesh // you can't fight fire with fire // The messengers all found knives in their backs // I know it haunts you, it haunts me too // We're all on our own, we can't decide what's true // Why are we fighting, when I'm just like you?

@a.alonso5132
@a.alonso5132 10 жыл бұрын
Glad to know that you consider Misery Signals a better band because "controller" is definitively one of my favorite metal albums of all times, there's nothing more awesome than the guitars in that album, but in terms of consistence I think architects is better, "Absent Light" wasn't that good, "mirrors" is better imo. But yaeh, the guys from Misery Signals are awesome as well.
@RobertoReyesChHC
@RobertoReyesChHC 10 жыл бұрын
welp we have vastly different opinions. Mirrors was least favorite release (still love it and has bangers like one day I'll stay home, the failsafe, sword of eyes, anchor, face yourself). I didn't like Absent Light at first but it grew on me.. they really switched up their style into a darker more riffy rung out chordy sound.. it really reminds me of Shai Hulud. I hated the orchestral parts but those too now have grown on me... there's really intricate guitar work and some of the stuff is the most technical shit they've put out to date. Each song has it's own personality and I love the Of Malice and the Magnum Heart vibe some of the songs have. Misery Signals literally brought a more hardcore inspired metalcore sound that was driven by bright melodies and a strong rhythm section that takes cues from Meshuggah and jazz... the whole "melodic" movement in metal/hardcore right now yeah Misery Signals did that first and "djent"? well they we're pumping out poly-metric grooves in the vein of Meshuggah since 2002. They changed metal/hardcore when they were 7 angels 7 plagues and then did it again when Misery Signals formed. That in my humble opinion is why they deserve the title of "one of the bests" from the genre all since 2002.

The best thing about these guys is that they just refuse to become boring. Yet they somehow don't fuck up adjusting their sound in the process. So many groups try and fail to do this. It's so good knowing bands like this one challenge the genre with every release and set a standard for other bands to follow. it also puts to shame so many other artists in the metalcore / hardcore scenes that stick to a shallow song formula of breakdowns and squeaky high castrated choruses (among other over saturated blueprints). I'm so glad the Dillinger Escape Plan influenced these guys as I personally see them carrying the torch for the genre along with a handful of others! Bring on the Koko show in London march time!

The sweeping choruses in this song are very different to hollow crown. Even the overall sound is very similar to their older albums with the inclusion of sams vocal improvement since daybreaker (not that it was bad before that album). Just my opinion to be honest, what I just commented was a first impression reaction.

It's a shame that people who actually have something to say are pushed to the back while pop stars who sing about partying and drinking and sex and stuff rule this world. Architects are an example of a band who is just simply brilliant. I've never heard anything like them (although similar styles) and they're great instrumentalists. That's a logical fallacy, and not in the slightest true. I'm sure you hate Justin Bieber because everyone in this genre blindly follows pop values anyway. That doesn't make Justin Bieber good. I won't bash anyone for liking this band, but you should seriously consider viewing things objectively first, then decide if you still like something. If you're being ignorant about this band and its flaws (and positive aspects as well), you really don't have much sense when you speak. This band is a generic band. This same image has been done since like the 1990's. The guitar tuning, sound, playing, style and notes and pretty much everything are generic. The drumming style is old and can be found in almost every single Metalcore/Rock/Metal song/band, not utilizing the vast freedom you have as a drummer. The vocals are just as generic, having no real distinguishing factor. The composition is very limited, refrained to pretty much a D5 powerchord through out, just like every other Metal/Metalcore band out there. This band is no way special or outstanding, objectively speaking. However, I cannot ask you to stop liking the band, nor would I think that's even close to sensible. Rather, I ask you to at least try to incorporate some more objectivity into your tastes. Don't remove your wants, but, remove your ignorance. I'm a fan of Avenged Sevenfold, and I can list you every generic phrase, hackneyed riff and just shitty song. If you have the gal to claim a band is perfect or even nearing good, you're most likely wrong 99% of the time. I can list you at least 10 negative aspects to every single band I'm a fan of (and this is not limited to any genre. This goes from pop, to ska, to metal/metalcore, to indie rock, to indie pop, to post rock). If you can't do that with this band, you're most likely being oblivious.

Still the best metalcore album I think I've ever heard, As Daylight Dies and This is the Six are close competitors, but everything about this album is just gorgeous, the tone, the lyrics, the melodies, Sam's incredible voice and Tom's wickedly talented ear for great music just make this so complete.

I like how they don't really change styles over the years like a lot of bands do. You can always just tell it's architects.

I disagree, I feel they have evolved musically and it's stopped them from stagnated. It's quintessentially Architects but they've changed.

Bloodbath and Beyond besides the wired fact that there is really something to it, what puzzles me even more is how the hell did you come up with it? do you try it on every song you listen to? is your player running 1,25 speed by default? do you subconsciously feel that by listening with increased speed, you can listen up to 25% more good music during your life span? whatever it is, i have a weird feeling i will do it frequently from now on... and i don't know if i should thank or curse you for it.
