Lyrics I sold myself on paradise But I'm giving up on that ghost 'Cause it keeps me from counting the cost Moments I've loved and I've lost Bow down to the splits in the seconds Did I suffer on? Were the nights too long? All the echos all so miscalculated When I'm dead and gone, and the race is won Will everything be less complicated? I give you my word In the times I've had enough I still wish for the worst As free as a bird But the days keep crossing off Heaven came with a curse I'm frozen here, I'm paralyzed Would you pull it outta my throat? 'Cause I'm tired of burning these boats Praying to God that I float Bow down to the splits in the seconds! I give you my word In the times I've had enough I still wish for the worst As free as a bird But the days keep crossing off Heaven came with a curse I won't pretend to know my end The credits roll, I'm afraid it's The end of the earth 'Cause the days keep crossing off Heaven came with a curse! You give me a conscience, I'll give you a crisis Hard times but I'd rather see this than be blinded Breakdown what's behind us Darkness only cares what the light does! I give you my word In the times I've had enough I still wish for the worst As free as a bird But the days keep crossing off Heaven came with a curse I give you my word In the times I've had enough I still wish for the worst As free as a bird But the days keep crossing off Heaven came with a curse I won't pretend to know my end The credits roll, I'm afraid it's The end of the earth 'Cause the days keep crossing off Heaven came with a curse! @x0scimy0x7 ай бұрын
What does it mean?
@nolankuffner35737 күн бұрын
@@x0scimy0x really? Let's put it in context. Architects was a band with a guy named Tom Searle who was their biggest song writer. He passed away, and the band kept going. But the band changed it's sound because Tom wasn't around anymore. Fans heard the new stuff, and demanded the band play "old stuff". Which is pretty hard when the guy that wrote said "old stuff" is, again, dead. Darkness only cares what the light does is the band saying "negative people hate positive things" and in some weird way, those negative fans who don't like the new albums try to act like it makes the older albums less enjoyable. Which is ridiculous. If a fan like All Our Gods.. they should listen to that and just enjoy it. But they don't. They go on EVERY SINGLE GOD DAMN Architects song and comment the same thing "I miss the ____ era of the band", "You guys are shit now", and so on. Is it any wonder that they'd address it when their so-called "loyal" fans have actually sent them death threats for changing their sound?

I think this song represents Architects cracking the code for their new era. Personally “For Those that Wish to Exist” was a bit too much of a divergence from what made the band so great before. I’m happy for them that they felt that they could experiment etc. but to me, Curse is the perfect middle ground. Still has that classic Architects riff magic but with some of their more recent pop influences in there. Excited for the album if it continues in this vein.
