Man that's why I love your content so much, I'm gen z so I got into metal in 2019 and discovered through your channel bands that the scene don't seem to talk about a lot like this or TDH and find it so refreshing and appealing musically, never heard of this album before, but jeeez it kicks ass

This band has had the biggest influence on me as a musician and music lover. So ahead of their time. Dustin’s vocals are unmatched. The way he sings high notes with rasp so they sound low until you try to sing them is crazy and the odd time signatures they play in a way that makes them feel so natural. Can’t say enough

Yeah, especially as he matured. It's almost as if it's a harmonic between his vocal fry and his natural tone.

Interesting that you're not a fan of their latest sound, but that's where the change distinctly started, which alienated a lot of their original fans.

It's interesting to hear the album with Dustin's current vocal intonation. As some people have already said, it sounds more like their live shows, because Teppei and Ed's backing vocals are higher in the mix. Can't wait to see them again this year. This time my 18 year old daughter is coming with me.

@chiefbeanus3224 Fantastic! As always. They are super-tight live; always have been. I was shocked (in a good way) that Dustin's voice sounded more like the original AitA era. They played the entire album, plus 'Motion Isn't Meaning' and some tracks off Illusion of Safety, Vheissu, actually... pretty much all their albums bar Identity Crisis.

I’ve been caught up in the train of following the more popular songs in the Metalcore and Deathcore scene that I forgot how much I enjoyed the hardcore punk and post hardcore scene. Back then I didn’t care about what was popular, I just cared about what I enjoyed myself. This revisited album reminded me of those good old years. The Artist in the ambulance will always have a special place in my heart ❤️

Anyhow, I hope you will end up liking the other albums too and understand what they're all about, and hate way less things from now on :p

@@hawkstrike18 I mean.. you made a pretty wild assumption. This account is like 15 years old. I made it when I was like 13 and when I got on the phone with blizzard support they made me change my account name for dumb reasons, so being some edgy 13 year old I changed it to that with blizzard watching. I changed my KZbin account name many years ago, but some KZbin update has forced me to use this old username and no matter how much I try to change it, when I comment or do anything it shows up with this old name 50% of the time.

I think the worst thing about the original.. It sounded like the reissue live. So this is basically Thrice admitting, if you're a fan of live albums that play the way they sounded in your car / home stereo, this is the album for you. Paper Tigers is probably my favorite live Thrice track, though Silhouette was my favorite album track for the longest time. Which is saying a lot, because like you Birb, this is an album I have always loved. My hockey player friend and I used to listen to this cruising around, and we'd always find ourself having to watch the speedometer 🤣 Not a leisurely cruise lol

My first watch through with you and honestly I think it was terrible. Maybe because how deep this album is for me, but you cutting through songs just ruins it and you putting in little comments ruins it more. If you put in meaningful comments it would be okay. You literally submitted like 10% meaningful comments and just butchered an album. I recommend anyone else just go listen to the album and enjoy it. The above seems harsh If you are a human that listen's to thrice you probably already get the extraordinary sound and technical production that comes from this band. If you don't then maybe this thing is for you. But if you know Thrice and get it, just skip this, will just make you hate your life for even wasting time on it. Go listen to the album and enjoy it as a whole piece of work that is so beautiful. Oh and Considering the beginning of this note was about Architects, which are they even relevant? Their last good album was like 10 years ago, and their last tour they cancelled shows bc they didn't sell enough tickets which is super lame. I have been going to shows with 50-100 people for a long time You seem like an Architects fan, so this all is starting to add up. But praise for putting your face and nuts out there, I don't have the balls to get shredded. Good luck with this

I personally can't stand any of Brian McTernan's production work (that terrible 'clipping' at the start of The Abolition of Man's breakdown, anyone?) Balance & Compusure's Separation, The Movielife's 40 hour..., From Autumn to Ashes' Holding a Wolf by the Ears... All sound as flat as a pancake. This version sounds like thrice playing metalcore. Not a generic metalcore band playing metalcore. To me, this is infinitely better. 🤌🏾🤌🏾🤌🏾
