@@resentfuldragon Actually, that just gave me an idea, and it seems so obvious that I'm not sure why more "person who does thing reacts to that thing but different" videos do it. I can understand, and even prefer, using people who aren't familiar with the source material, because it offers an outside perspective. But they should give them a quick run-down on necessary information required to understand what's going on. For example, in this video, before recording, they should've told them what some important, widely used blocks are and what they look like (also making sure to not choose builds/videos that rely on texture packs, so that they don't need to be told, "So this is wood planks, but so is this and this and this and this...though I think shaders are fine for this), as well as explaining that blocks don't fall to the ground, except for gravel, sand, concrete powder, and water (also lava, but unless the builds chosen utilize lava, there would be no need to explain it). Also, as I saw someone in another comment point out, they should've just chosen better builds. I thought the medieval house looked good, but the tree house wasn't even a tree house, and the underwater base was just...even I could do better than that. Even the insane over-reliance on overly-detailed textures and shaders don't help it.

I like how architects reacts to Minecraft, in the way that they criticize the logic and the physics of it "using that material there is not realistic, using this material would not work". That's not the point of Minecraft. Minecraft is all about color, shape and texture, the blocks used to achieve this does not matter. Minecraft is about making it look good, not about realistic structural integrity. Would love to see architects reacting to Minecraft from a purely artistic perspective, without the veil of realism blocking them from seeing the art.

And have u never seen anything from real life...I get that it's just a game but don't comment about how they have no knowledge and how ur 8 year old cousin can tell by each block. Minecraft is not something to be compared to real life and u shouldn't bring someone who plays the game and compare them to someone who doesn't. @@rocknroll5941 well, think about the assumptions you would run on without knowing the game personally. you think, kids game, simple block placement systems, very basic almost lego like simplicity to the design detail, so you think about it with childbrain. what color is "wood" to a 7 yr old? brown. and if you don't know the game, would you assume that the game just had "Wood"? of course. would you assume it had Birch/oak/spruce/etc variants? probly not. now the childbrain mentality fails them and so to compensate, they start trying to just use their professional logic and experience. what has even striation/smooth markings, is light tan color, and often placed down in shales/plates/planks for flooring and facade work? sandstone brick/limestone flooring. simple error in their logical reasoning due to lack of information combined with overeducation/overspecialization. they say "when all you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail", but what if all you have is a particle accelerator? than even simple problems like a nail look like coordinating/controlling positively charged ions moving at lightspeed. in short, "They're overthinking it".

This was a wonderfully refreshing take on Minecraft builds. These two were a treat. Unlike other "experts react" videos, they didn't fixate on the same points in a negative way. Rather than harp on about how physics isn't there, they showed excitement at how liberating it would be and how designs could be changed. They didn't compete for the spotlight, they engaged with each other, it was very pleasant. I am a little sad they weren't shown super-grand designs that really demonstrate the scope of what is achievable in Minecraft with so many talented builders, but I guess we can't have it all as an audience.
