Listening to this, I now totally understand why Sam wants to distance himself from the Bleghs. He's right. It gives an idea of "Who cares about the heartfelt lyrics, we just want the bleghs". It does come across as that. Song can be an incredible banger, with extremely pertinent and poignant lyrics and people will go "What, no bleghs?". It annoys me too. But I still did enjoy the occasional, well-placed "blegh".
@jimjob1056

I never got why people care about the bleghs so much, like they're cool and fun to hear and do, but they're the same as an oh or Aaaa. If people are getting so distracted from architect's beatiful lyrics by the noises then they're idiots

@@malcolmk2878 ye, honestly it's more of a live thing anyways, sounds pretty meh in studio in comparison. Also it's cooler when stuff like Blegh isn't written into the song. I mean, there are brilliant musicians out there.... brilliant, talented songwriters, activists, kind, honest, emotional and handsome people; people that stand up for the shit that is happening in the world but then there is Sam Carter: everything desirable united in one body, I mean the whole band combines honesty, aggression, anger and sorrow so damn well addressing so many serious topics (that every single one of us should think about, cause change starts on a personal level); and all of this is carried by Sam's incredible voice gosh, I'm over the moon with this Band, for 6 years now maybe I can give Sam a hug one day...... and make him a sandwich

"If everybody in the world just didn't eat meat for two or three days a week it would make such a massive difference". It fascinates me the fact that there's a sense of coherence between what this band say and what they actually do. I love how they're not just spreading a message but also making themselves part of the change and encouraging others to do it.

Meat is a staple of the teutonic peoples diets and the diet of his ancestors, in a northern climate we need it to survive and it allows us to have enough protein to be strong enough to fight against those who would oppress us, this doesn't mean we can't treat our animal friends kindley and be thankful for their sacrifice that allows our survival.

@@callummason6589 whenever people put the word 'survival' into this topic seems to me as if they were using it as an excuse to justify their own denial to quit it. You see, if we shall live or perish in this planet it's not up to an animal based diet. This is a proven fact nowadays. But I understand you might have a sense of respect for your ancesters traditions and this is your own decision to make.

This was such a good interview. It's ridiculous how nice and humble Sam is as a person. What a beautiful soul. I specially loved the point he made about not promoting new content beforehand. Cause literally that's what i felt with Black Lungs. The song just dropped out of the sky and i woke up one day and it was on my feed, and that distinct feeling is so precious, specially comming from a band that is so talented and dear to my heart that they almost cant do no wrong at this point, and i know deeply that everything they release is gonna be amazing. And well, as expected, it fucking was :) keep doing your thing, Sam and Architects. You're all very amazing people

Oh Sam, you definitely seem like a genuine and nice guy to talk to :) I'm sure that - just like with everyday life - critics are always screaming the loudest while the majority just enjoys silently. Which maybe should be a lesson to all of us: Let's be louder and more outspoken than the critics that only want the "Blegh" and disregard the depth of your guys' lyrics. I personally have always been into artists/bands BECAUSE of their lyrics, not despite of them and from the get - going have enjoyed YOUR lyrics and your vocals (the clean ones just as much [or even more than] as the angry, despairing, heartfelt and harsh ones). I always be here for those and can damn well do without those "Bleghs" if you don't feel like adding them into the mix. So, sending a big virtual hug to you and everyone else in the UK from my snuggly small little hometown in Germany. Stay sane, happy, safe and sound everyone 😘

The people that want the “Blegh” aren’t the real fans. Imagine putting your heart out in deep lyrics and then read the comments to see that people want you to make a random sound that you have no emotional connection to. My fave songs on the record are Dead Butterflies and Animals as far as sound goes. Lyrically, Black lungs is incredible, it spreads the message about how important it is to not be in denial about climate change.
