That’s why the majority of bands don’t even pay attention to their social media. They usually just hire someone to run things for them. David Draiman from Disturbed doesn’t even have social media for this particular reason. Regardless of what you do, there’s always gonna be someone to talk sh*t, which is why you should just focus on yourself and what you’re doing.

I still have great respect for the band. I still listen to their discography from Hollow Crown to Holy Hell all of the time. So while I don't like their newer music, to say they suck would be an egregious misnomer. Most musicians change over time and while we won't all go with them on their new journey, I still have great respect for what they have accomplished over the years and there's no point in taking futile potshots at them simply because they're doing something new.

If anything this just tells them to go even further away from their old style and just go for the charts. Metalcore has a ceiling, you can't become a truly huge band selling out arenas without some radio friendly aspect. So why not aim for that and get the arena tours they deserve? To go back to their old sound if they don't have the heart for it, would just be to appease the so called fans who can't wait to jump online and spit hate at them.

I jumped into this band after hearing Doomsday and the Holy Hell album. I think For Those That Wish to Exist is unique and is a masterpiece similar to how Sempiternal was for Bring Me the Horizon. Unfortunately, the classic symptoms of a broken spirit sounds very generic in comparison to their album prior. It's got great hooks and is fun to listen to but you can tell that there's a quality drop with the new sound. That's just my take from the singles. It sounds way too radio friendly and expected in terms of song structure. It's like Memphis May Fire's Made In Misery album. Great, catchy songs but the basic intro, verse, pre-chorus, chorus, verse, pre-chorus, chorus, bridge, breakdown, chorus, and sometimes the outro is very bland. Hit me with a curveball and start off with a solo, breakdown, or something unique from the get go. Mix it up instead of just molding each song to what structure is popular for the basic crowds.
@kristijanfistrek90552 жыл бұрын
Really? I find "Classic Sympthoms" levels above "For Those...". The production, harmonic content, melodies and the mixture of synth is way better. And, most importantly, since it's Architects, the riffs are finally more memorable and up front.

I think I made the mistake early on of idolizing Architects a bit too much. Still some of the most amazing music I'll ever hear but I suppose l imposed my own ideas about what and who they were onto them too much. Their messages always struck me as very conscious and putting down the evil and hypocrisy in the world but from a place of humble compassion. Much of what I've seen from interviews of Sam in particular don't give me that vibe as well as the sound of their new music. It's good and I'm not shitting on it. It just doesn't move me so deeply like their previous releases. I can tell they either were not what I thought, which is fine and not their fault of course, or they have changed. Which also is their own business. I just feel a bit sad about it

@brantbedore13992 жыл бұрын
To be fair to the band, they evolve as people and a lot of times fans have the expectation of their music to always be a time capsule of what they remember of the band... that doesn't mean their lyrics weren't inauthentic at the time. if you like the old albums and not the new ones, just listen to those and let the band move on. I don't care for their new material either but I respect the fact they are changing and moving past where they were before.
