Did you know you should be changing your mask more frequently than you probably are?
You should be washing your reusable non-medical masks between uses and only wearing disposable masks once. It’s a good idea to bring new or clean masks with you, especially if your mask is likely to get wet. A damaged, soiled or wet mask will not be as effective at trapping droplets and particles, not to mention it will be more uncomfortable to wear.
Change your mask as soon as possible if it gets damp or dirty. Masks that can’t be washed need to be properly disposed of in a lined garbage bin.
Make sure you know how to safely put on and take off your mask and wear it properly. Your mask should fit well, meaning it isn’t too big or too loose, and it should sit snuggly over your nose and under your chin.
Mask up - it’s not the time to let our guard down against COVID-19.
