This was the jam back in the eighties by The Thompson Twins. This is when real music comes to play that makes great sense.

The lead singer Tom, was once a music teacher, in a school in Sheffield UK, my home city. So was The Human league, ''Electric dreams''. Def Leopard, Artic monkies and many more.

Somebody left a copy of the Thompson Twins Greatest Mixes at my apartment 20 years ago and my son and I still love it. This is one of the songs on it. ❤

The song they did for the Sixteen Candles movie, If You Were Here, was one of their greatest.

Hi good reaction glad you liked my favourite band. I'm 53 and have been a fan of Thompson Twins since I was 14. I've been lucky enough to have met lead singer Tom Bailey around 8 times because he's great with his fans and the nicest guy. A radio DJ once said he heard Tom playing the bass line of this song in the corridor of a radio station and said he knew straight away it was going to be a hit. One thing I would say though that there is around 22 KZbin reactions to this song. I do often wish that KZbinrs would choose another Thomas Twins song beside this to react to. I can't really blame KZbinrs as it is the Twins biggest most famous song. But the thing is the Thompson Twins went through so many changes in lineup and musically. The three piece band is their most famous and successful period. But they started off as a 5 piece then 7 piece guitar indie new wave band with lots of percussion. If you heard some of their early work you might find it hard to believe it was the same band. No early music videos but there is a couple of TV performances. Then end of 85 of 86 Joe left the band and they were now a duo. They did a great song Nothing In Common for a movie with Tom Hanks in the video. Had songs in the 90s. KZbinrs react to mainly Hold Me Now a couple of times Doctor Doctor or Lay Your Hands On Me. As a fan I'd love to see KZbinrs explore the bands musical progression. Or just basically another song of theirs that sounds quite different. The serious song Sister Of Mercy from 84 that nobody has done. Or the anti heroin song Don't Mess With Dr Dream. King For A Day or Tom Bailey's solo album Science Fiction from 2018. Or the band the Thompson Twins became in the 90s called "Babble" any youtuber who did reactions to these would have a coup. Something unique that nobody else has done.

Thompson twins are a British New wave band! They where hot in the 80s! They have a great library of great songs. You should try “doctor doctor” “if you where here” “lay your hands on me” “king for a day”! Great band indeed!👌😎👍

saw them in concert at 14 wearing a black & white polka dot Miami vie style jacket lol .... right on ... good to see a new generation checking it out... those sounds were her part as a secondary precussion... whinds chimes etc... they were mod with their own sound for sure.

Interesting reaction. Seems like you got more out of the music than you did the lyrics though.

Very few people sing in a British accent. Take Ozzy. Listen to him sing and then talk. Night vs Day. But this guy sing talks in parts of his songs.

Auto tune special, the guy can’t sing! Great song though. One man and his keyboard, the other two just dance.

Ha ha. You're really dumb. This song is from 1983 and auto-tune wasn't invented until 1997.
@ianadams11328 ай бұрын
There was no auto tune in the 80s 🙄

@@ianadams1132 There were digital pitch shifters though, which could be controlled via MIDI commands.
