*EDIT/UPDATE* (POE Planner Updates reflect any changes I make in real time) I will continue to add to the area below and after launch weekend will just add all relevant information into the first build diary update video. Keep the good ideas coming! I mispoke slightly but it changes very little. To clarify Archmage now has "Supported Skills gain Added Lightning Damage equal to 10% of Unreserved Maximum Mana" so you still want a very large mana pool to give you more added damage. The mana cost itself isnt scaling the damage but your total mana amount is, so for that reason you dont need to invest into more mana cost multiplier but it does come with more mana cost since archmage also has "Supported Skills have added Mana Cost equal to 5% of Unreserved Mana". This Changes *very little* about how I had it built intially or how it will play. *Below are things added from comment suggestions, new ideas or things to test* Notable Changes & Priority: You now want to go Dreamer instead of Forethought notable, allocate the 10% reduced mana cost mastery and annoint things like Righteous Decree or Mind Drinker notable. Other instances of reducing mana cost to no less than 100 (to proc mana cost abilities) is helpful. The Hybrid Max Mana(36-40) & Reduced Mana cost(5%) Ring/Amulet craft can help balance mana costs with Archmage. Adding in Pure Talent: The setup requires slightly differant passive tree mapping in that you need to grab the witch starting node 16mana/spell damage and the 2 int nodes above it leading to mind over matter. This ultimatly gives us 7% movement speed (ranger), +25 All Attributes (scion) and .5% mana regen (Witch) which is insale value and allows you to place Transcendant/Tempered Mind in the witch starting area socket near mind over matter for a differant 80 int mana regen location.

How do you make agnostic work? I have a lvl 11 clarity + arrogance; the life mastery (90% of hp counts as full) and whenever I apply the agnostic keystone my mana drops to 0. What's going on?

Nice. I'll be running Hierophant still, without agnostic this time. Wonder how that will go. Also probably not arc, I love the skill but I'm forever sad that archmage doesn't work with vaal skills. If I can't zap the whole map what's the point (yeah there's the lucky damage buff but whatever).

hey lighty, been a good while since i played, is foreboding mana flask spam still a thing for archmage builds? i remember having to queue it up like 7 seconds in advance in exchange for basically infinite mana. definitely made me hate the build but it always felt kinda unintended.

Im confused: Archmage can`t support Vaal skills, and your guide shows Vaal arc...Or do i get it wrong maybe? Does the archmage support works just fine for the normal arc part and just doesn't support the Vaal portion part? Or does it mean that the Archmage support gets completely ignored while using Vaal arc. If somebody can help :( Ty

This build is somewhat outdated or incorrect. Now that archmage damage doesn't scale with the mana cost, you want a lot of reduced mana cost. The idea is to get around 100 mana cost per cast so you can reliably power up sigils of power. Inspiration support (in place of added lightning damage, also helps with EO), betrayal mana crafts, dreamer and the reduced mana mastery should be almost enough. That being said, thank you for pointing out the life mastery tech along agnostic. I didn't know that, and that lets me run clarity or spares me the pain of using divine blessing. Edit: For what it's worth, here is another tip. Tempered/Trascendent mind and Pure talent by themselves are fine, but together they are amazing. If you grab the int nodes to the left of the witch starting point and get the 16% spell damage/16 mana node combo, you can get an 80 int location that synergises with Pure talent. The +0.5% mana regen is essentially a 27% more mana regen multiplier.

Never done an Arc build. Always loved the skill. I'm good mechanically, bad theory wise for crafting builds... Would this be capable of clearing all content in the game? With a focus on mapping?

Arbitrary pick cuz of my wheel initially but it's tankier, faster and has some niche interactions with unique jewels (listed in notes) that make it "more fun" to build. No clue on damage and it's prob negligible difference ultimately

It cannot support vaal arc but it doesn't negate the use of vaal arc in the link setup since they're different gems essentially. Even on a 4link vaal arc is still great to use and worth having

@@LightyGaming looks cool but ascendant starters always got me nervous. What are you using until archmage at 31? Are there any walls in atlas progression? Looks like the jewels at the end could take some time, do those prevent smooth progression into reds or t16s? I'm also concerned about the low armor/evasion.
