What a great opportunity for you and your girlfriend. You must be enough of an influencer to get this opportunity. There will always be time for training as these opportunities don't happen all the time. Hopefully you will get more in the future. Good video as well.

So Ari, what is your FTP? 😊
@archmdz6 ай бұрын
380 or so? Maybe less right now. I haven't tested it in a very long time but this is an interesting question since my coach doesn't really use my FTP for training (nor do I for my athletes) but if I'm rested and I have a consistent gradient 60min climb to ride up then probably around 380w. In training (i.e. under some fatigue) if I do "threshold reps" they would be 340-370w depending on the duration.

Not to be negative, but I’m genuinely curious what you get in return from Ketone IQ for doing this, as it kind of blurs the line of influencer and pro athlete. Like Sam Laidlow is also sponsored by Ketone IQ but I couldnt imagine them asking him to do this.
@archmdz6 ай бұрын
The line is not blurred -- I was 100% influencer on this one, and what I got in return was a free trip to the Giro D'italia. I could've said "no I'm a pro athlete" and just focused on training at home but I'm not sure when else in my life I'd get to do something like this so I took them up on it. Sam Laidlow lives in France so he could probably go to the tour every year without really interrupting his training anyway.
@inntw48896 ай бұрын
Thanks, that makes sense. I completely forgot the fact that most pro triathletes still need to have a second gig to support themselves, so being an influencer is not a bad gig to have, especially when it gets you to the Giro! I do hope Ketone IQ is also hooking you up with boxes of Ketones. All that being said, (and not to keep bashing you lol) there is something symbolic about a pro triathlete wearing a costume at a pro cycling event… even with events like the T100 and the Ironman pro series, it still shows how far triathlon has to go, especially when you compare it to the level of cycling, which is closer to where it needs to be. You saw for yourself the number of spectators at the giro, then compare that with the T100 at San Francisco… Either way, keep up the good work brother!

Grappa is not moonshine. It’s distilled wine
@archmdz6 ай бұрын
These dudes made it themselves though so yes even though it is grape-based, I moreso meant that it's like moonshine in the way that it's a form of alcohol people are making in their backyard. Although I also know there is commercially made moonshine and grappa, it was cool that these guys made it at home.

@@archmdz ok fair play! It’s a funny comparison of backwoods Americans to Italian…counterparts but veramente rural folk going to be rural I reckon. Regardless thanks for the clarification. I bet it tasted pretty good, if you like grappa 🥂
