I remember when you were just the random face that got added to some athlete special videos over COVID, I've loved following your progress in the years since and this Australia segment has been especially enjoyable, very excited to see what's still to come in this training cycle
@andrewmetcalfe989810 ай бұрын
12:43 - what I reckon is happening is that because (1) you have committed to swimming fast at the beginning of the rep and (2) you are already carrying fatigue BUT (3) are getting specifically physiologically fitter in the water THEN your body is adjusting by relaxing through the stroke - HENCE getting more efficient and THUS faster for the whole of that rep. Well done, the benefits of uncle Chop Chop’s HARDEN the FUUCK UP Aussie training method, lol.

Can't believe I'm watching you run and ride around my town after watching you for years. That road surface up Mt Warrenheip is World Class. I believe Mona's fastest fartlek session on the lake he went through the full lap between 17.30-17.40.
@archmdz10 ай бұрын
Comments like this are crazy. Social media can drive us apart but it can also bring us together. I love Ballarat! Mona did the full lap in around 16 minutes actually is what I was told. 2:40/km on that slippery gravel surface.

Great to see things are going so well for you Ari. Always enjoy watching you run. The run appeared as though you were "muscling" it out a bit more, but that could have just been the camera angle as well. Swim looks to be improving and able to swim on Chloe's feet is a very good sign. I know you are swimming at absolutely near max, but the one thing I see is that Chloe appears just a touch more relaxed in her stroke. I think with a couple more 40k+ weeks you are going to start appearing more relaxed at the same swim speed. Looking forward to seeing the returns from this big training camp. Stay healthy.

I think your main struggle in swimming actually involves your inability to wear a cap correctly.
@drym394310 ай бұрын
It really depends on the cap and head shape tho. But we pays hundreds to have an Aero skinsuit, WE should pay the same attention to a CAP that is representing 20% of front surface area. Swimmers are wearing special molded CAP during races for a reason.

You don't get that respect from Australian athletes unless you're putting in the hard yards. Behind all the fun is an insane amount of hard work, can't wait to see the results from this down the road.
@josephgschwartz10 ай бұрын
You know that's actually pretty smart. If you pace yourself to be 30th out of the water you're going to be 30 out of the water. If that's not your goal then change your pace. Showing commitment early gives you a chance to succeed. Keep it up. Wahoo wah
