It's a great bar but so much lighter than a typical 45lb bar so it seems easier to use so dont forget to add more weight

Picked this up a few months ago based on your review and have finally gotten around to using it. It gets the job done! So much easier on my shoulders when doing incline bench. I came back to see if your calibrated plates fit and you actually mention it. Word! Thank you. Hard to determine which steel plates to get, but it helps to know I have the option of getting calibrated plates and having em fit all of my bars. Thanks brotha!

I'm not sure, we'll see. Racks are more difficult due to the cost and space requirements.

@@BasementBrandon I own one of their racks it is very good quality although I am somewhat nervous about it being 14 gauge steel, (have had around 600# in it and it wasn't to bad but will definitely be changing out the main part of it for a rogue rml in the future.

Definitely a great bar, footprint is small and it doesnt feel as bulky as other multigrip bars

If you have access to a welder and a lathe or good friends who do, make the bar. I think the square tubing is 1x1x1/4 or 2x2x1/4. This is not complicated to make, and will cost much less then you’d think

Factor in the knurling time, the powder coat, and the chrome sleeves you might be able to shave off a couple bucks. Not worth the effort in my opinion.I get $40/hr as a welder/machinist. This would take me at least an hour and a half to make.minus the finish.

Looks nice especially for the price. I like the knurling which the Rogue MG-1 doesn’t have, but those angles are a little too crazy.

Do you need regular or "axle" type collars? I know most rogue specialty bars need axle style.

If his Rogue plates fit, I would guess any standard oly collar will fit, not axle sized ones.

nice lift do you prefer the football bar vs the swiss press multi grip bar? or do you rather think that log bar that has better multi grip handles allow the use of ROM or do you think DO U think the cambered bar is better for the ROM?

I think it really depends on what you're trying to do. For me, this is a low use bar overall, so I just wanted a cheap option that didn't suck.

ARCHON Fitness Thanks, that's great info! I'll check out the videos :) my biggest question was about the stability of the rig when not bolted into the floor. It looks like the footprint is relatively small compared to the height, but I'm in a rental apartment and can't bolt anything into the floor. Can you comment at all on how it perform unbolted? Bent-over rows, OH presses, etc. Most upper body push/pull movements that can be done with a regular bar can be done on these. I do curls, as well.

I don't own one, but have used one on many occasion. From what I hear from people who have had them for several decades is that either the quality is not the same as it used to be, or the other bars on the market are just better now. They're a good bar up until around 500lbs, when I start to notice more whip than say an OPB. Since they are similarly priced, in most cases I'd suggest OPB.

Barbell skullcrushers hurt my wrist and I can’t seem to get the form right because of the wrist stress, do you think this bar will help? I’ve tried dumbbells and it took the strain off my wrist but it felt awkward to stabilize the 2 different dumbbells rather than having a single bar and I couldn’t use as much weight.

I still stand my thoughts about it being great quality for the price. That being said I haven't found myself using it much (or any of my specialty bars) as of late. This is more b/c I stay away from those things as I get closer to competition, but I'll break it back out soon enough.

Ah it's a bit dicey, I have it and will likely use it for some CG work. I wouldn't go out and buy it for myself personally as I could just do close grip work on a regular barbell. But if your friend has shoulder issues and/or is specifically are looking for a bar like this, then I'd recommend it.

it's a rule in competition, originally based off 1)being able to see the stated weight (as the backsides are blank with comp plates) and 2) so companies logos always showed

Titan has a more stout unit, but reading about the loose steel shavings is a straight up turn-off haha. I've got a bad left labrum from an old football injury, so the purchase is inevitable, if I want to lift consistently. Probably gonna grab the Archon.

I think the Titan has better placement as the Archon narrow grips are too narrow for most. However the Titan version wouldn't fit my calibrated plates on it, not sure if they've updated it
