Backed this for my wife who was big into knitting and crocheting before turning to fabrics and making clothes. Was supposed to be her Christmas gift but is now her Birthday gift this year. Have been so excited to give this to her, to have a game with a theme right in her hobby wheelhouse, and this video just amps up the excitement! :D

This was one of the prototypes I took a leap of faith on making content. The final product ended up really solid. I'm glad I did.

I played this at Gen Con 2019 and have been waiting for it to come out since! I kickstarted it and am excited for it to come soon. As someone else mentioned, the diversity of the characters (ethnicities, genders, and a disabled character) were one of the draws to get me to the table initially. Tom mentioned that there might be a color blind issue. They thought of that. The colors that are most likely to get confused (e.g. red and green) have different shapes in the wooden tokens.

Great to see such diversity and representation in the characters, including a person in a wheel chair. As a person with disabilities, I appreciate seeing such characters and representation. Look forward to playing this game at some point soon.

That is the game's strongest point. Also, if you want, check out Steel Ball Run. It is a manga with a paraplegic protagonist

Just the other day I was wondering if there was a board game about yarn/knitting/crocheting. And now that I know that one exists and doesn’t look bad at all, I’ll have to seek this out

Loving the diversity in character art, especially seeing men doing a hobby traditionally seen as feminine - as a certified soft boy I am so down for that. I'd kind of love a game night with a crafting theme - playing this and Calico back to back anyone?

Played this at the last GenCon. It's great.

Just a quick vocabulary lesson: one knits or crochets (pronounced croché, no 't') with yarn; one sews with thread and fabric. :) Anyway looks a bit light for my tastes, but as a someone who knits I love the theme. Wondering what the Venn diagram of knitters and gamers is. There is so much more thematically that could be added to a heavier version of this game, like "the boyfriend sweater, or in my case "the girlfriend sweater."

Instead of going with a German pronunciation of a game designed by people with distinctly non-German surnames, I'm going to assume it's a play on "arch rivals" with the obscure "ravel" meaning "to tangle" (or to "untangle", which is probably why "ravel" is obscure and "unravel" is not).

I can’t believe Tom missed that pun/dad joke!?!? C’mon :)

As I mentioned to another post, this is a well known term within the community with "Ravelry" being the largest collective of knitting and crochet on the internet.

When I played this game at Gen Con 2019, it was called “Arch Ravelry”, but they changed the name after talking with Ravelry and the site not wanting the game to be confused with the site (such as they were sponsoring it or something).

Interesting game, but there's something...uncanny valley about the art. Hmmm...

Actually the largest collective of knitting and crochet on the internet is called "Ravelry." So it is a great name for those in the hobby.

@@modemacabre From my understanding there was actually a naming dispute with Ravelry asking them to change the name as I think the original name was ArchRavelry
