Hell yeah! Fantastic job, very clean and every note is articulated perfectly. Archspire is an intimidating band to tackle, you nailed it man. And those tapping sections were flawless. Edit: Also I'd never complain if you did more songs off this album. It's a killer one.

Amazing work as always, i definetly agree with them when they say that this is the hardest song they've ever written Also just out of curiosity, did you learn this one from the tab book they released, or did you learn it by ear, and then added your own take on it :) . Also i had no idea they tuned down the low B string during the song to A, that must have been a challenge to get up to speed. oh and do i sense a Kiesel sponsorship coming for you in the future? you should show them your videos, you most definetly have the skills and talent to get an endorsment/sponsorship oh and regarding others songs of this album, Human Murmuration, Remote Tumour Seeker, Calamus Will Animate Or Involuntary Doppelganger would be awesome Allthough the title track has an amazing bass line, but since it already got an official Bass playthrough, maybe you don't want to cover that one :)
@LindenPoirier5 жыл бұрын
Thanks man, appreciate all the feedback! I've sent Kiesel reps some of my videos and they're yet to react to them, but hopefully some day! As per the comment about tuning down, I'm guessing Jared wouldn't bother to do it live since it's a lot of effort for 1 note he could just play an octave up like is written in the tab book (which, yes, I did use for this cover). He recalled there might've been the one note tuned down while recording the album, and to me it's pretty clearly a dropped A so I just went with it :)
@Funnyyelowdog5 жыл бұрын
Amazing cover, you should definitely give involuntary doppelganger a go its not nearly as hard as this song but i found the tapping shape in the begining to feel a little unatural and took some getting used to

Wait, what did you change the tuning for? I have the sheets as well and didn't see anything about it.
@LindenPoirier4 жыл бұрын
Good question! For the note at 3:22, I asked Jared about it several months before they released the tab book since it sounded like a low A and he said that he "might have tuned down for one note". I figure they wouldn't bother tabbing something so minuscule since it wouldn't be worth the effort performed live and would be way too weird to try and convey in the book haha.

@@LindenPoirier Thanks for the response man! I'm about halfway through Involuntary Doppelganger right now. So dang hard to get clean.
@LindenPoirier4 жыл бұрын
@@DavidWoodMusic Nice! That one's got some really tricky parts like the legato and tap section before the soft part, and that main verse riff is really easy to screw up bc of all the transitions from the open B to tapping and then back. But you can do it!

Thanks man! And yeah, a Kiesel Xccelerator X64. It's funny though, bc I was originally considering an ESP Ltd B-206 (maybe the bass you're thinking of) but then decided to just go all out and get a really optimized custom one with a similar look.
@ruthbradford94164 жыл бұрын
Why did you tune down to A?
@LindenPoirier4 жыл бұрын
Good question! At 3:22 there is one low A in the song, as confirmed by Jared when I asked him about it. Normally it wouldn't be practical in a live setting, but for the sake of authenticity and bc it's easy enough, I figured I'd throw it in.
@ruthbradford94164 жыл бұрын
Only asked cause I couldn't find it anywhere in the tab (and my ear definitely isn't good enough to pick up on it). Leave it up to Jared to add another level of frustration to an already frustrating song. Incredible.
