Time To Switch From Adobe Photoshop to Affinity Photo?

I switched to Affinity's software suite just over a year ago saving hundreds of Pounds £££ in subscription fees especially being a self-employed freelancer. The Affinity Photo V2 UI was very quick to learn with it being 80% similar to Photoshop. I've not looked back at Adobe since.

I'm freelancer graphiste, 3D artist, programer and finally game developer. So I admit you're so very wonderful to teach me about 3DS Max and now I have earned a lot of my skills thanks to you!! In fact, Affinity's software suite is definitely awesome and I have plan to switch to Affinity's software and I'll not back to Adobe ever!! 😉

i used affinity photo while being a student but had to switch to photoshop in a tiny archviz company because they did not want me to use another software for post. was quite frustraiting because all we did in photoshop seemed to work as good in affinity photo from my knowledge ^^

@@zocuad6710 I tested Affinity & loved it, but I'm yelling at them for not supporting the Arabic language, but so far it's soooo goooood, smooth, fast & has everything jumping to what you want quicker simplier than how it is in photoshop.

I am in the transition phase for to all affinity products. Still got two moths until my adobe subscription will be cancelled. After 25 years using adobe it is not that easy.

I moved to Affinity around 2 years ago after I could no longer afford the subscription-based licence from Adobe - they definitely don't care about the little guy. My biggest problem was the lack of tutorials online for the software, but I slowly started to get the hang of it. I really enjoy it and I find it better than Photoshop in many respects. Definitely happy with my decision, can't wait to see more on affinity from you @ArchVizArtist!!

I have used the affinity software suite for over 3 years for may daily use as a freelancer graphic designer, it's a good software. The only negative thing it is the affinity software suite doesn't have a full support for Arabic language, but there is a solution (I use third party tools to get a correct Arabic text).

switched to affinitty on a black friday and got the full suite (photo, designer and publisher)for 55 euros. great deal! it works just fine and no subscription

if this is the case, Affinity will soon introduce generative fill i'm using Affinity designer for creating vector files, its super cool and easy than Adobe illustrator. but never used Affinity Photo, should start trying

pirates are the reason why adobe is still alive. if people had to pay they would've had to choose and that would've created more competition. instead, people pirate because it's easier to pirate adobe so the alternatives never gets attention so it never grows and gets better. stop being an npc and dont' use adobe.

I am 100% sure... you are using editing software for a hobby...xd...changing the working pipeline is never as easy as that...I know one thing adobe never falls...it's also like Autodesk.....

Yes and no, it works differently in affinity. As you see in the video you can parent layers to each other by dragging them on top of each other. For filters AP has a feature called live filters, that work like Photoshops smart filters, but you don't need to convert the layers to smart layers. You can also add them to the top of the stack. A lot more flexible than Photoshop in my opinion. It doesn't take very long to understand the workflow :)

Looks like my employer might switch soon. The accounts and IT departments are furious that Adobe says their software audit means they scan everything. Marketing has 13 people and we all have our own subscription to use in the office or at home. They seem to hate their business customers.

Adobe has been super annoying since the recent updates, its buggy and the interface is so messed up, other than generative fill the updates are next to useless money grab. Im glad ppl are switching to alternatives, hope adobe will be replaced by other ai software in future.
