Just imagine these Titans working with the Iron Guard. The sheer amount of paper required to get any stuff done would be enough to flood the battlefield and bog down the enemy. Of course it would make too much sense for the Imperium of Man to have Suppression of Enemy Air Defence (SEAD) equipment and tactics for their planes. Or for the Aeronotica to be a separate branch from the Navy or anything that can actually fly be apart of the Guard, brilliant setup that is!

It sounds dumb but the lore makes sense. Especially in this situation. Any combined arms units are more powerful and manuverable thus are bigger targets for heretical conversion and if they where to become traitors they would now have a basic complete army instead of it just being a pure tank division or a pure infantry division , air only, navy only, etc etc making them easier to be defeated by joint imperial guard armies regardless of Beracracy drawbacks.

Well, during the devastation of Baal khorne daemons got involved against the tyranids (somewhat aligned with the blood angels)

Baal Prime turned into a three way free for all between the Nids, Blood Angels and all their successors who happened to be on the planet, and the daemons led by a daemon who basically said the only one who can wipe out the sons of Sanguinius is him. Chaos won that one and killed all the Nids and sons of Sanguinius on said planet.
